Apparently the second series of Survivors, due for broadcast later on this year, may be delayed because of Swine Flu. Considering that series dealt with a flu-like virus that wiped out 99.9% of the earth's population, I'm guessing that now wouldn't be the best time to show it!

Thinking about it though, the earth's population is almost 7 billion and increasing exponentially so it seems inevitable that some natural or man-made disaster will occur sooner or later to reduce that figure. Who's to say that Swine Flu isn't the next Black Death or something? Maybe the Talibans made it?

Would living in a tiny town in the arse-end of nowhere be better or worse for swine flu protection?

Hang on, im late to this but why is it always us Asthma sufferers who get the raw deal!

Why cant it affect 'healthy people who are able to breath fine hoovering up or running short distances'

It's nature's way of saying that if it was up to her you wouldn't be around to moan. Bloody philanthropy, messing with evolution.

So has anyone here actually had Swine Flu yet? El_MUERkO thinks I have it, but I doubt it. I don't have a blocked or runny nose - flu isn't flu without that one symptom.

I had the flu a couple of weeks back... but if it was swine flu, it was pathetic.

    Didn't bother getting tested.

They don't do testing anymore anyway.

    What symptoms did you have?

If I have it I started having symptoms last week and still ran 5k last Friday and a 5k race on Sunday too.

    So no stuffy nose then?

I've had a sore throat, hoarse voice, blocked ears, heavy chest and (today) pains in my chest. Had the sore throat, hoarse voice and heavy chest for nearly a week now. I amd very tired alot though. I got home from work about 3.20 and then promptly slept 2 1/2 hours - just sort of passed out really. I've been feeling pretty nauseous for a few days too and had a lack of appetite. Ah well. Got Doctors tomorrow anyway, mainly cos the chest pains tbh.

Not that I recall. I may have sneezed a few times but I usually find the whole bunged up nose thing the worst part and I didn't have that at all.

Two of my department managers at work has swine flu. I've been suffering from chest pains, shortness of breath, fatigue and an intermittent cough for 2-3 weeks, but I dont think it's swine flu as I've been to the doctors 3 times already, surely they'd have diagnosed it by now? Does anyone know how they diagnose it for sure? I went to the nurse yesterday, they did an ECG and took blood (I had a spirometry last week- to study my breathing), I'm going in again on thursday to see my doctor and discuss the results so I guess I'll know then.

Vaccinations are biological agents made from the filth of the earth, from diseased organs and sick animals and people. These toxins are injected in a person in order to increase their antibodies against that disease and produce immunity. Yet, scientist have very little understanding of what immunity is and what makes a strong immune system.

Woman opposite me at work has been confirmed as having the pig sniffles. She sat there coughing at me all last week, the piggy bitch.
