Following Wonder Woman Page 10

Yep, probably why I'd be happy to see WW but you'd have to staple my eyes open to get me to watch a Suicide Squad or BvS sequel. She's the only one in the DCEU whose scenes you couldn't easily recut to look like a serial killer.

Although on second thought, WW is being made by a director who's most well known previous film was Monster, a film about a female serial killer.

Yep. But that was to studio execs. These have been general punter screenings.

General punters or DC bloggers? They also created 12 hours worth of positive hype before the last film was officially pooped out.

The extra 30 minutes wouldn't have stopped it being shit.

Maybe they were just worried that if it was that long people would start killing themselves in the cinema just to make it stop.

aye, i think they tracked it at a 30% reduction in mid movie suicides when they reduced the running time.

The extended version is a better film, to be fair. Not 'standing ovation' better, but better.

To be honest I watched the original version for the first time at the weekend and enjoyed it more than the Ultimate Edition, which I felt dragged on for a bit too long and now I've seen both, I really didn't need any of the extra stuff. I get that it clarified a couple of points, but they weren't really points I was fussy about seeing clarified.

    Probably just me though :)

If I was at a viewing where they gave Batman v Superman a standing ovation, I would stand up piss all over em.

I've only watched the extended one. I actually can't imagine how the original could be any worse.

There was one bit in it that had batman being a badass (only redeeming scene). If they cut that in the non extended version it would have been worse. If they cut everything but that scene it would have been better.

The cut version was already over 3 hours.

Over. 3. Hours. For a movie about superheroes punching each other.

It's under 3 hrs including end credits.

But still should have been MoS2 and Batman before putting these 2 on screen together and they didn't need to be fighting.

That's a story that could have come years later

I enjoyed BvS way more than the standalone super man film.

There are some plot holes, but, hey, it's a cartoon (basically). Like a big budget version of DC legends of tomorrow, which I really enjoy.

From a purely commercial viewpoint, this film's biggest problem is Gal Gadot. Wonder Woman doesn't have the name recognition of Batman or Superman so they needed a big female star to draw in the non comic book nerds. No one has heard of Gal Godot. She can't act. She's never been a lead in any movie.

I really hate that all these DC movies have the same Zack Snyder, desaturated aesthetic

She's a model who's had some minor roles in Fast and Furious films. Why would anyone outside of geekdom know who she is?

Ive been hearing pretty positive things about WW which, since we live in opposite land, means that it will be the first big DC flop.

It's not war and peace, the films are mainly shit, having a so so actress in a (up to now) shit series of films isn't really an issue. I thought she was the best part (batman warehouse scene aside) of the utter shitshow that was bvs, and word seems to say she's fine in this. You don't need to be a great actor to do fish out of water schtick, all she needed to do was turn up for the action scenes and from what I've seen from the trailers she's pulling it off.

One of the reasons they cast her was that she apparently had great chemistry with Batfleck.

I do think she is a terrible actress but she may be okay in this. Find out soon enough.

There have been some concerns about Jason Momoa and his acting ability coming from the Aquman set. He's fucking terrible as well but he looks the part.

Yeah, the thing with ww is that likely chris pine will be prattling about distracting people and providing comic relief with the the ability to chip in on the action. Who's aqua man got to back him up? Spose the little amber heard is in it will be distracting ;)
