I think beta testing is supposed to happen towards the end of this month, it's a seperate team from those fucking up CoH with I5 so it's not like they're trying to do that.

Heh, why keep denying yourself whizz, you wanna play WOW even though you keep denying it. Why do this to yourself? Why? It's madness!! ;-p

Me, Marcus and Markus Maximus have got a nice little alternative EG men thing going on there and everything!

No WoW for me, seen it running plenty of times, my brother's family are all playing, it really does nothing for me at all.

I've signed up for the D&DO beta so hopefully I'll get in that, it's been too long since I've played D&D and I miss it.

The space add-on was before my time. Is there a lvl requirement to get out there?

See my thoughts here at the bottom of the article.

There's new careers that allow you to have a ship right from the get go and it's a twitch based combat system which is one of the reasons I wanted to give it a try.

I fired up TIE Fighter last night with the XP patch and as much as I love the game, it's getting on a bit, hopefully this will be a bit more up to date!

I5 is live if anyone is still playing.

How big is the bloody patch? It's telling me I've not got space for it, but I've got a few gigs spare!

It's only about 70 meg, I just fired up the updater, it looks like it's trying to download the whole thing.

I may not have an active account but I can still do that!

edit: oh a second 44meg patch downloading now and now it's finished and that's it.

I'm glad I never got around to respecing Phase Shift in after seeing this :

    Change -

Pool/Phase Shift: Although still a Toggle power, Phase Shift will desctivate if you leave it on for more than 30 seconds. Increased its Recharge Time.

    Response from Dev Team -

As a standard toggle power, Phase Shift was open to abuse in both PvP and PvE in many ways - allowing players to collect badges, complete missions or (in the case of heroes with pets) even defeat villains with absolutely no risk, for example.

As a timed toggle, Phase Shift can no longer be exploited in these and other ways, but remains an extremely useful power, particularly for escaping from dangerous situations or avoiding risk

Aaaaarrrrgggh. Not missing Paragon at all.

Got it working and had a little go today. Had a quick look at Phat but I've got so much work to do to work out the best possible respec I simply can't be arsed. I think that's it for him.

I did have a quick go with a Trick Arrow/Sonic Blast Defender though, seemed like a laugh. I don't know, I'm in MMORPG limbo a bit now. I love the vast ness of WoW but I find it all a bit lonely and laboured. As for CoH its just a bit stale for me, havn't got the heart to start from scrath. Think I'm gonna continue to convinvce myself its all about CoV now.

taken from an email chat with a mate who plays coh...

and have u played live i5 yet? damn, but my blaster
    got hard :)

i really like the changes. not played all my alts yet,
but everyone i've played i personally think has
improved. the same is true of everyone i've played
    with so far, too.

there is also a thread on the boards about tanks, and
how much more fun they are to play now!

so i guess it is about perspective, but apart from the
odd moaner, most people seem a lot happier now that i5
    is live.

the increased xp has made a big difference too - took
me about 3 hours to make lvl 30 the other day, in a
    four-femme team.
i'm almost tempted to head back in for a look around.

I might be about a bit over the next couple of weeks as I've won't be in work. Might even see if I can get Phat up to 50.

Yeah maybe I was too hasty in cancelling!

Ah well what tends to happen towards the end of the beta they give extra keys away to testers to help stress test, if yourself or kal gets a spare then I'll join you.

I've got a great idea for a villain that I hope to put into action. :-)

Right, very interesting stuff indeed. I'm assuming some of hose power sets are idetical to the ones of the same name in CoH, but maybe that's wrong, as that would mean a dark/dark corrupter is idetical to a dark defender, but then again that's kinda cool.

I might post that info up on the CoV thread if you don't mind.

who? wha? don't know what you're talking about.

    /glances at nda

erm, at this stage, i may be able to get away with categorically stating that i have in no way played the beta. it probably is against the terms of it to state that i left my pc downloading it today, so i won't say that.

That would probably be due, at least in part, to that there supergroup "The Army Of Archers".

Not that I have a character in that group at all, no sir, not me at all.

I'm not sure why but I can't remember if you've got my email address tobz.

All this talk of CoH is actually close to getting me to resubbing again after a month off, maybe I should give I5 a chance on live? Hmm.

Not really sure what this Army of Archers malarkay is. Is the consensus that defiant is a bit cack at the minute then?
