Well that is interesting. However it's more a case of "spot the person who's copy is 23 miles away from him but will be knocking off work in ten minutes and will be firing up CoH by 17:30 while some people are still working for another hour."

That's not used very often I must admit.

bet you can't use it from day 1 though

To get the capes you have to go through a whole pile of missions... I reckon it'll just give you a special one to choose from when you get capes.

Well I've played for a couple of hours with my brand new creation, The Silver Toaster!:-

While working in a university research lab, a humble lab tech is feeling a bit peckish, deciding on a round of toast the tech uses the newly developed hyperspeed toaster. Unfortunately one of the slices got stuck, even advanced super toasting device still have that problem, so using a knife to extract it he gets dealt with a massive surge of energy as the toaster is shorted out. Waking up hours later completely singed but feeling strangely stronger and appears to be able to produce flames at will. Wanting to use his new found skill as a TV celebrity chef he is spurned by everyone, realising he's got nothing better to do, he lost his job at the lab, he decides to fight crime. Thus is born The Silver Toaster.

Unfortunately he got the colours around the wrong way when designing his ToasterSuit(TM) so he's actually mostly black...

The EU Deluxe Edition bonuses aren't all interesting so far, a VIP badge (which everyone has so not that interesting), a freebie prestige Slide power (which to be honest looks like you're lagging so I took it off the toolbar and put sprint back on) and supposedly a cape but that's obviously not until later when you hit 20.

I'll see everyone on Defiant and does anyone want any toast?

So how does the subscription work for the retail product? Are you 30 days free and then licking sailors at 1am in a dirty alley to make the monthly payments?

I didn't even realise CoH was out FFS. Missed that one.

First 30 days free, a free 15 day trial for a friend to use (although you could probably use it yourself then use your retail key before it expires and have 45 days), then it's £8.99 a month if you pay monthly, cheaper if you do 3/6/12 months.

The reason some of us have it now is Play sent it out Monday and we got it today, it'll be in the shops tomorrow but as Play are doing it for 18 quid rather than 30, that's effectively a month and a bit free.

Beta users should do what the Euro website says and just re-activate your present details rather than adding it as a new game as we're supposed to get a special gift for beta-testing it. Probably won't be much but there's little point in not doing it.

Pity hover is soooo slow! Handy for getting the hell away from the melee types though. :-)

Only level 6 on my new guy but I'll be picking up hover when I get there, I've got a flight enhancement to use as soon as I do.

The sidekick code can't be extended by using a deluxe one afterwards! From the official Euro CoH site.

[code]However, we’ve noticed that this has caused some confusion. It’s very important that you use your Deluxe edition serial code to create your account, not the Sidekick code. Only the Deluxe edition serial code will give you the in-game goodies like the VIP badge, and you cannot ‘upgrade’ an account created with the Sidekick code with a Deluxe edition serial code.[/code]

So you can't squeeze 45 days out of a Deluxe edition set after all.

yeah i hovered fast on the beta cause i bought enhancements and put loads of slots on hover it was a total of 30 hover.

aye, way too slow for the fun stuff, but it's nice to start to get the aerial views going. and climbing up pretty high, then just turning the power off so you do a huge fall is fun too

partially due to me completely forgetting to modify my bloke's head, and partly to check out some out aspects of the gameplay, i've just completed the tutorial for a second hero. dark angsty man is a scrapper to make with the easy soloing, but my new guy is a blaster for a bit of ranged fun. and he's called...

doubtful for me. i've got tickets to tonight's rammstein gig and i'll be rather drunk when i get back from that. i'd rather avoid playing when rather drunk as i'm likely to end up in experience debt hell, that said, when drunk the idea of playing will probably appeal a whole lot more

if nuttah aint caning the internet connection when i get back, and if my comination of getting up too early and being drunk doesn't knock me straight out, i might bring pinky online for a bit. he's only just completed the training and so can be controlled by a useless drunk without incurring experience debt for a fair while yet.
