    Passed \o/
Made an absolute hash of it compared to pretty much every practice run, nerves crept in. So what though eh. Now just the mod 2

Nice! Most of my cockups on my test were on my mod 1. I found mod 2 to be an absolute breeze

Bought a VFR at the weekend, I came from a Fazer 600. The power band on the vfr is way more aggressive. Fun but will take some practise and feels alot heavier.

Quick tip when you pass your test get a fazer not a vfr. The fazer is so responsive but also very smooth, sure they are getting on but that just means reliable.

    @elstoof Nice one!

Failed my Mod 2 first time round but it was a howler of a mistake (cut someone up). Just ride normal and be safe.

I did a perfect mod 1, my mod two was 8 errors! All silly things that I never do and I just got nervous.

Congrats on the pass, just remember mod 2 to keep those safety checks going. Especially when back at the centre. Apparently the most common fail is people drive back into the test centre and donít do their final over the shoulder checks as they think test is over and relax. However until you are parked test is still on.

Cheers guys, Iím less nervous about the mod 2 than I was about the mod 1, mainly the slalom because I fluffed that first time but everything else was fine in practice. Today my slalom was spot on but then did the biggest, wonkiest figure 8 in history. And I stalled it once. Just those two minors though

Went for a nice day trip to Brecon Beacons today. Slightly windy but otherwise perfect weather. Stupid satnav died once I reached my destination so getting lost on way back home cost me an extra hour+:(
All in all about 7 hours in the saddle.

Awesome. Was chatting to my accountant today and she mentioned she lives in Isle of Man alongside the TT course. I said I was a fan and 5 minutes later she has offered me her place for the bank holiday weekend when she is away.

So I am riding up Thursday, ferry to Isle of Man and 3 days sitting in a back garden with a beer watching the most exciting motorbike race in the world. Hotels going for £400 for 2 days and I have "make yourself at home, I will leave keys for you and help yourself to the wine cellar."

I think I may have just died and gone to heaven.

Today was the best day of my life.

Woke up early and did the mountain at the tt. I was chickening out and topping out at around 110 with bikes speeding past me at insane speeds, but it was still the biggest adrenaline rush of my life. When I can off the mountain I was just shaking.

110 mph while overtaking and being overtaken by bikes and Ferrariís and all the time being a metre or two from the edge of the mountain on twisty curves.

Did three laps of the full circuit and doing more tomorrow.

I think I may stop shaking in another five hours.

Finally biting the bullet and putting my Strontium Yellow Triumph Daytona T595 up for sale.

That'll be it for me and motorbikes; since I was ill, my reactions have just got woefully slow - too risky.

Yeah, Iím an idiot but I grew up in the 916 / RS250 days and always liked Italian bikes. Saw a pristine one for sale with only 5k on the clock, Termi exhausts so thought fuck it, insurance is much less for a few years old bike when youíve no NCD than a new one. Was quoted almost 5 grand to insure a V4. Think getting an A2 compliant bike is a false economy while starting out, Iíll only want to swap it

Extremely jealous! I also pined for a 916 as a roof but RSV4s have caught my eye lately and they're reasonably priced used so I'm on the look out for one of those.

Got some lightly used Alpinestars Supertech gloves in the post today. They're lovely

I looked at 748s as well, thereís a tasty looking yellow one for sale at the moment but the more regular valve servicing and general things to go wrong at that age put me off of running one as an only bike. Iíd still love one at some point, problem is thereís too many bikes I like. RSV4 is one of them, maybe a Tuono though. Wish I got back into bikes years ago, tough in London with storage etc though

Ride safe out there guys. Just spent the last half hour helping a guy keep his foot from falling off. Nasty break with bones sticking out etc.

Was in full ďhelp a fellow bikerĒ mode then smelled his breath and he is just a fucking moron who wobbled on a straight empty road and fell over with the bike on top of him.

Waited till the ambulance turned up etc and now just heading home. Not going to sleep well thinking of that leg but not much sympathy. Does remind me to drive safe and remind others though.

    Ouch, that sounds horrible.

I just got back from a 5 day bike trip with a friend. Spent 2 days getting to Zurich. Did a local tour the next day and then 2 days driving back.

Man, driving in Switzerland is so much fun! All the rest seemed so boring after. :-/

Looks like a great trip Salaman. Which of the bikes is yours?

The boat on the left. :-)

The middle mountain in the distance is where we drove to and had lunch. Best day's ride ever. Not a straight & flat section of road in sight.

It was 28 or 29 degrees out, so sweating like a pig all day but it was worth it.

I also learned that I'm crap at right handed hairpin turns. Left seemed OK but going right, it always seemed awkward and clumsy.

That is a nice boat! :-)

As for being able to turn one way better than the other, I see the same thing. I'm better at turning left as well.

    Bravo!

My bike is in the garage again :(. Conked out in Tesco's car park last week and wouldn't start. AA bloke said the battery was fine but it wasn't charging so i'm still waiting to hear back from my local garage. Need to get it sorted and sold before anything else goes wrong. I've spent far too much cash on a bike that's worth just over 2.5k already.
