Well, that was the first commute I've enjoyed in about 5 months. Can't remember the last time the roads were dry around here.

Took mine for a spin today. I try to at least once a week, whenever I feel blue I jump on, go for a spin and suddenly life is worth living and I have a big smile on my face. It is actually scary how good it makes me feel.

Itís possibly the last cold day of winter over here at -5 right now and chock full of snow. Plus temperatures from tomorrow, so itíll be melting in no time and I should be riding from next week on. Iím so fed up with the car right now.

And my bike is complete. Top box purchased, wired up my heated gloves etc. Panniers on. Pllion back rest added.

I finally have my dream bike. One I can throw all my luggage in for a 2000 mile Road trip, then stop at a race track, strip it down and get some fun.

I have to say, I do love the vfr and I haven't regretted a second the money spent on it. Only 1000 miles ridden since I bought it new at the end of October.

Congrats, that looks fab! Bet you can't wait for Europe to open up again! I've been doing the odd journey on mine, managed a jacket and jeans ride to hospital last week.

I had a few weeks with the new Multistrada V4 too - it's so bloody good.

Booked the bike in for a tail tidy, rear pads and a sprocket and chain kit. As soon as my guy at the garage saw the D.I.D chain I bought he recalled the last bloke he had in who put one on his Tuono had it snap and fly through his bloody crankcase. Could have easily taken his leg off. Slightly miffed subpar stuff like that which is apparently only recommended for 600s would be listed for more powerful/torque-y bikes.

Supposedly there's a D.I.D rep visiting the garage today so hopefully my bike won't be in too much longer than expected.

Whole lot of V4 chat in here suddenly, hoping i can justify a V4 this summer. Need to get my little v2 out the garage soon, MOT this month anyway. Bit of a gamble picking a good day of weather in March, supercorsas are a bloody sketchy in the wet

So I finally got to the dealer yesterday. They have a promotion on, 1.99% over up to 60 months on 2020 models, which seems nuts to me. I took a Diavel and a Streetfighter V4S out and I can't decide

Try a Multistrada V4. Thereís a good chance youíll never want another bike.

Iíve got a Rocket 3 for a few weeks from today, and itís very very silly. Rides like an overgrown Speed Triple...

Was that Statham name checking you on his review of the Muttley Timmywoo? Iím sure it rides nice but itís no looker is it. I saw a rocket when I was in Triumph last year, that rear tyre is hilarious

Don't like the new one, you were right about the old one (sitting on rather than in). The riding modes make both the Diavel and the SF not scary unless you want to be scared, too.

Multistrada looks like the sort of bike I'll have when I'm sixty, as much as I know it's the Billy bollocks. I am a very shallow person

@elstoof yeah it was, that made me do a proper double take! Each to their own on looks - Iím slightly weird in that I donít really care about looks when buying bikes if they ride well enough. The Multi is so capable itís ridiculous, and loads of fun. Finally got around to writing the review earlier if anyoneís interested... https://drivetribe.com/p/2021-ducati-multistrada-v4-s-review-XnsxmKMITteUXl8ulAMo3Q?iid=EDZondm8To-Vp_uL0KcUjA

Thereís apparently a sportier multi in the works anyway, single swingarm and a smaller front wheel.

Nice choice to have to make between the two though, think Iíd go for the Diavel. Looks better finished, no bits of wire and whatnot designed to be hidden under fairings, like a bike designed for its purpose. Not really into naked bikes or street fighters anyway though, give me plastics and clip ons any day

I spoke waaay too soon. I've driven once and now it's four weeks later and it's still cold and wet and awful.

My mind tells me Honda CB1000R, my heart says Triumph Speed Triple (not the new 1200 RS). Which one should it be? I'm hoping to be testing both soon, as soon as it gets warmer.

So it turns out our resident pro reviewer is right about the Multistrada 🥰. Took one out yesterday and got over the looks issue quickly.

They don't have it on the special deal though. Might wait a bit and see what happens

Brand new bike, no chance of deals for a while. Pikes Peak comes out later this year, should be plenty of people chopping in for that

Hooray! Did your tip dribble when you hit 8000rpm? Trying to get my Dad to have a go on one. I think itíll be a year or two until there are any deals - thereís probably a Pikes Peak version on the way for even more money...

I still prefer to be less upright as a riding position but yeah my tip was indeed sodden. It helps that you feel 'in' the bike rather than atop it. Something something user carrybagma something fucking the Akra.

It is also the first Ducati I've ever ridden that didn't roast my chestnuts after ten minutes of stop start city traffic.

I think it might be a bike for all seasons (all seasons here are rainy)

@elstoof Double the price of a Tracer 700. I can't possibly justify that.

But I support you! You need it really don't you? Nothing else will do.

Big recall on the Multi V4 engine apparently, probably best to give it a year for beta testing to iron out the problems anyway
