Hard shell tacos are an affront to humanity

Can't beat a bit of MSG!

Couldn't figure out why all the mustard oil I was finding was being marketed for hair care on the packaging, quick Google and it turns out you can't sell it as food in the UK. The local Asian supermarket doesn't seem still concerned and still puts it with all the other cooking oils ('for external use only').
It's brutal stuff. I had a bottle but chucked in during a clearout.

I used to go to this burger van years ago that was obviously cheap as shit burgers, processed cheese and burnt onions with crappy baps that would fall apart in your hands.

And after a few pints they were fucking amazing

So I went to Tesco's today in the attempt to recreate said goodness'.

I couldn't find no-frills burgers or the no frills processed cheese, and this is what I managed -

I'm thinking 7 pints before they become irresistible? What do you think?

I like how on the box of burgers it has "British OR Irish beef" It's not a good start. I'll need to see it all cooked up first to decide how many pints I need to eat it. Good luck! May God be with you.

That will be great. I took my girlfriend up the shard (oooh errrr missus) for her birthday one year to Hutong. The views are stunning. It was a really memorable experience.

Hope you have a great time!

I fucking love tasting menus, I have done 2 and they have both been amazing. The best one was at the man behind the curtain in Leeds, well worth the journey.

Yeah, I like them too. They get a bit of a bad rap but I like them. It's great to be able to try so many different things and it's a chance for the chef to really shine and show off what they can do. Same reason I like the small plates thing that's gotten so popular. I know that the restaurants love it because they make more money but it's great to be able to have a lot of things and... I am so bad at deciding what to have so it suits me :D

Tonight I am doing fresh pasta in a very cheesey tomato sauce. I'm using mascapone and parmesan cheese for the sauce. I'm making pork meatballs. I'll be griding up some pork belly and combining it with onions and chopped parsley. Hopefully it turns out well because thats a lot of effort for it to taste like shite!

I'd just have walnut & fig bread with brie cheese and ham for dinner.
I actually prefer eating the largest mean of the day for lunch instead of dinner. Like that I don't feel tired and sleepy all evening. Thus, more energy to enjoy my hobbies, play games and tidy the house.

Not strictly dinner-related, but I went back in time a few decades this afternoon and made this.

I fucking hope it's not dry, it took forever in the oven.

Just sat down with a cuppa and a slice, and I'm pretty chuffed. It's nice and light, and still a bit moist, despite the long baking time.

My mum was talking about it on the weekend, as her mum used to make it, which is why I decided to give it a go. I'll be taking half round my parents tomorrow.
