Windows ME/ipod

I'm asking this for a friend, as I don't really know much about ME, but can you get itunes to work on it? He says that there is no download for ME. Anyone got any experience of this?

It works with v2.0, but not 2.1 apparently.

To clarify, you can install version 2.0 of the firmware under ME (follow the instructions at the ipodlounge.com forum) but for v2.1 and later, you'll need to find a machine running XP or Win2000 if you want to upgrade the firmware. That doesn't mean you can't use an iPod running v.2.1 on an ME machine. Once the firmware is installed, you can keep using it under ME (via 3rd party software like EphPod) no problem.
