You’re chatting away to someone, finding common ground, learning that you’re both gamers, and then it starts to dawn on you that they almost certainly post here… What do you do? It’s happened to me a few times now, and although on those occasions it’s turned out to be people who don’t post much and aren’t really regs, it’s still weird. I’m never quite sure how to broach it all. /waves at freelancer in a Playstation t-shirt sitting opposite me and browsing EG |

It's a thought I had the other day along with "How the hell am I ever going to convince my daughter that I'm not really this much of a fucking dick in 'normal' life" ?

Registered 16 years agoIt's happened to me a few times - only time it was a problem was when one of them saw a post I'd made rambling on about the general futility of modern life and they went all armchair psychiatrist on me.
No, thinking is not a sign of depression, you plonker. -

Registered 16 years agoNever happened to me, although I did live in a weird place so I figured other than the two mates who I'd introduced to the place probably not many other toonsers posted here.
Then I left and they all came out; seems there's about five people from Aberdeen who posts fairly regularly and a few more who do so less often. I've probably passed some on the street at one point.
I think I'm safe from the OP's dilemma now. -

Well no, I don't mean that's what's weird.
What's weird is meeting someone and then finding that you've already formed an opinion on them, and possibly even argued with them or got on or whatever.
Put it this, you're out on a Saturday night, maye at a hip hop gig, you're chatting to some bloke, and then you discover it's in fact ME. Would be pretty weird no? -
I always drop little hints about EG when I discover someone is a gamer. But it doesn't usually work. -

Chances are that hundreds of people nearly met kalel IRL but didn't because he wasn't on an upward slope so they couldn't see him. -

Interestingly, I discovered that one of our IT bods has registered here (same IP as me), but have never worked out if he joined to see why I was here so much or if it was pure coincidence. -

I was in London once and I a funny feeling people around me were from Eurogamer. They weren't, but I kept getting an odd sense they were, weird.
Every single time I see someone using a laptop in a pub, I think they're on EG. -

I live in mortal fear of one of my patients being a someone who posts here and works out who I am.
