Registered 16 years agoNacional scored a late goal in Saint Petersburg to draw the match at 1-1 and they are through to group stage, thanks to their amazing 4-3 victory last week at home against Zenit. -

Villa goal: Sorry to say this, but if Eduardo's a cheat, then Ashley Young's not far behind him - let's not pretend diving isn't a disease caught by English players too. Young goes down so easily in the Rapid box once more, and once more it's a spot kick. James Milner takes over duties and comfortably dispatches it. Extra-time is on. -

You missed Heskey blasting it over the bar 10 mins earlier then?

Writing my dissertation while "watching" this. Got to go back and make sure I haven't slipped "Heskey is shit" into it somewhere by accident. -

This. He had at least four chances that he was either too lacking in foresight or to slow to score, had Agbonlahor been on the pitch he would have got to those balls. Heskey did quite well in his deep role playing the ball on but that's just not good enough for a striker. He has to get in the box and score the goals otherwise he is indeed that waste of space.
I thought Villa played pretty well tonight, Milner, Cuellar and Young especially looked pretty strong. I thought the ref was a bit harsh but consistent most of the time. Petrov was a bit slow to move the ball forward and the lack of defensive midfield was evident again.
The fans need to pay attention to the Rapid Vienna fans, they never stopped making noise all night. -

It's a tough Europa League this year. I think Everton might well turn it around in the not too distant future so I think there's possiblities, perhaps the opposition may be too strong but I guess we'll see. -

Registered 16 years agoHearts won 2-0 against Zagreb. Great performance, Zagreb were totally outplayed which makes their 4-0 trouncing of Hearts even more of a mystery. Blame the manager for his terrible tactics in the first leg...put just one guy upfront and make sure he's the slowest, laziest of the lot. Uhu, recipe for success right there folks... -

Hehe. That's one way to think of it..gif)
We were the only team to beat Zenit last year - and we did deserve to - eventually going out on penalties. I don't want to jinx it but the ability to advance is there, assuming we get over this hump which I'm hoping is down to the Lescott saga and starting jitters. -
Draw starting in 5 minutes.
And we are the first team with a group. Group D.
