Has there ever been a more predictable outcome? And this is coming from a neutral that really likes the guy. He has no Plan B.

Such poor quality when Arsenal got to the final 3rd. I love Welbeck and he works his arse off but you just can't trust him to get in goalscoring positions, never mind finish the chances when he gets there. The crossing from the full backs was fucking dire as well.

Gutted. Played OK, but not quite enough in the end. Poor goal to give away, but final ball in the last 3rd wasn't good enough. Especially from wide.

I think all the intention is there but that final layer of quality just isn't there overall, slow end to a pretty hefty managerial career.

The next six months will be....interesting for us.

Englands last hope in Europe, out. We're all disappointed but at least Brexit is around the corner.

Wenger should just do a Mick McCarthy.

There's nothing left for him now, just hold that chin up and walk.

I can't fault the performance and effort tbh. Did what we could, didn't create all that much and they could probably have scored 3.

I know i always call out Ozil but really you expect your best player to do more in those big games, its not that he did anything specifically wrong but he really influenced the game very little.

I got fucked off with the commentary going on and on about how one defensive mistake had cost Arsenal again, actually that made no fuckign difference we'd have lost on away goals you thick fucks. Just trying to keep the same boring narrative going.

Also to mention Koscielny, maybe one day we'll know the real truth but i feel like he's really given his all to Arsenal football club this season and don't like to pre-diagnose anything but maybe he literally has given his all tonight.

All i ever want from Arsenal is that they give 100% and play well, and that's something to be proud of mistakes or not so i'm not actually as gutted as i thought i would be.

^^ Well he bust his achilles… isn't that what he's been managing this season?

I kind of meant, i think he might actually be done now, as in forever.

Arsenal looked nowhere near finalists to me. Great at getting the ball wide and behind, but then just blasted the ball across the goal again and again achieving only 1 shot on target...

Shame, I wanted Wenger to go out on a high (and change his mind and stay! :-P)

So a wrongly awarded corner is after deciding the other semi final. That said it's something that would never even be reviewed with VAR which is why I think we shouldn't bother with it at all.

Once we go down that path surely managers will just keep complaining about decisions not going to VAR until we have breaks in play every 10 minutes.

I suppose you’d have to limit the reviews like cricket. One per half?

Perfectly open to a challenge system similar to the NFL. I can't say I've ever watched cricket to know how it works there.

It's corners that have always got me the most. There's a massive difference between a corner and a goal kick, yet the amount of times you see them called incorrectly is pretty startling. I've seen so many games decided on wrong calls in that area it has always amazed me that it's been allowed to carry on for so long without change.

I refuse to believe there isn't some sort of in-play system where a video ref can just go "it came off X last" if a referee is unsure or gets it wrong. If a low-attention-spanned couch potato like me can see these things being called wrong in real-time, I'm sure they can make it someone's job to watch it on a screen and give the referee word in his ear when he needs it, without play having to be stopped for minutes at a time.

I thought it was quite apt that Koscielny got injured. Like they'd just walk him to the dressing room and give him the shotgun to the face. "Thanks for the memories, but it's time.."

    @DakeyrasUK

This 'creating crosses but not chances' seems to be a symptom of the "attacking full back" formations in the modern game.

Sure, the full back generally has the space and can be worked into wide positions. But then you have a defender (who's strength is probably "energy" rather than "technique") being your main creative outlet.

I am sure if the wide players just tried "head down mazy dribble into the box and see what happens" they would have a better success rate than just "blast it into the aircraft hangar of uncertainty"

    So, the final is on.

BT fuckers don't even show the final on TV, what a bunch of arseholes. Guess they'll do exactly the same with the Champion League too. Fuck you too UEFA.

Yeah, I know you can stream it on
YouTube. Still, sucks for non tech savvy people, at least the TV has a YouTube app. Viewing figures for these UEFA cups must be rock bottom since it left ITV and Sky.

Keeper messed that up big time, defenders touch was bad but terrible clearance. Madrid don't really concede much, might be a tough comeback.
