Quick question: when did Vijay last win a major?
  • Deleted user 17 July 2010 20:11:58
2004. PGA at Whistling Straits in a playoff.

    Casey for the win?
I can't believe I had him in my bet slip at 9/1 this morning... then went out to buy a carpet instead >:(

You still have your Oosthuizen bet though don't you...must admit, I'd never heard of him before this Open, was it just his second tee-off time combined with first round score that drew you in or were you aware of him before?

Picked him entirely on those two factors... err, and also because his name was the longest so it was easiest to match his tee time with score glancing through the two lists... :) I should also point out that I bet on Yang for the same reasons and he's down at level par now.

Never heard of him either, though I've since found out that my mate's brother beat him on the Challenge tour a few years back.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen on a golf course. I now want to try it, although in my case, the ball would probably hit me in the shins.

I'm sure I've seen that before at St Andrews, maybe about 15 years ago. Thought it was Ballesteros but nothing comes up in Google. I'll find it...

Aye, he properly rattled that one in too.

Got up at 9 stuck on some coffee and haven't moved from the sofa yet. Don't think I will for the next 3 days either :)

Nice to actually get full coverage on the beeb.

Asked if he will celebrate his 66 with a glass of Rioja, Jimenez said, 'doesn't matter what I shoot, I always have glass of Rioja.'

Another hole in one today, this time for Tom Watson!

4 Iron into the wind at the 6th, bounced straight into the cup.

Watson is amazing. Such a shame he got a kick on that final approach to the 18th a couple of years back. Would have been incredible for him to have won that tourn (I think he was 62 at the time?).

Another cracking round from Darren Clarke today. Northern Irish golf is in fine fettle at the moment.

Funniest thing today was when Hazel Irvine later apologised for any offence caused after one of the commentators said: "From Northern Ireland, Graeme McDowell has won the US Open, and Rory McIlroy too. Maybe if Darren Clarke can win this, they'll all stop fighting."
