How old do you think Mr Norrell is? I like Ken Stott a lot, but I think maybe he is too old

I found this online - apparently Christopher Hampton has been adapting it - wonder what New Line are doing with it? lots of casting chat in the comments

    edits: imdb entry

I've always imagined him being generally scrooge-like, but dignified if he wants/needs to be, so anyone in the Stewart/Mckellan/Hurt/etc old RSC group.

I can't remember if I've read Flow My Tears The Policeman Said, I've found that Philip K.Dick's stories tend to merge together after a while. Even after checking through the overview on the Wiki entry I'm still not sure if i've read it or not. lol

I never saw Norrell as being that old, myself. Stott would do it well.

I was thinking whether Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars books would make a good film. But I think they maybe too big a scope for even a TV series.

It's written like a movie pitch anyway, so it can't be too far off.

Definitely needs to be more good Stephen King adaptations.

Easiest way to do that is to make sure that Stephen King is not involved in any way with the production.

That way, you can safely lop off the silly bit with the alien / monster / warlock at the end and just film the good stuff.
