@LewisPackwood apologies if I'm only posting to you, I didn't know how to ask the whole forum.

hi, can anyone remember the telewest adverts they used to run?

it was back in the day where cable (telewest) would hijack thier channel feed and replace a and advert like a 'nescafe' advert with a local one. it was pretty sloppy and you could easily see when a few frames of a legit ad started before being overridden by some local shoe shop or something)..

blatantly likely breaching some sort of advertising laws but was quirky. which in itself is quite worthy of investigating.

the adverts were all slideshows with audio (nothing fancy) and special reserve ad was along the lines of "this is Kevin" (show a shot of a timid teenager) and Kevin would say 'alright' but pronounced it as "ALLLIGHT" and then would go on to say that he isn't cool as he isn't part of Special Reserve. then once he joined up there was a new picture of him looking all 'cool' and says "AHH RIGHT! TOP SCORE DUDE!"

the amount of times we would Say "ALLLIGHT" or "top score dude" whenever referring to something positive (or even a person who looked a bit of a douche) became second nature.. and then the ads were gone..

does anyone remember these? I'd love to get a copy of the vid. I've tried online, even scraped through some YouTube videos of old ads but i think to was so localised the chance of finding it randomly is slim to none. I'm 90% sure this ad was for Special Reserve. can someone please tell me they remember it too?!

Special Reserve in Chelmsford was my favourite shop as a kid. I remember buying the original Worms in there - and the original PlayStation. It had giant wall art around the ceiling designed to look like frames from a film, I seem to remember. I think the last think I bought was an Xbox on my 17th birthday - good times!
