My dog has slept all day. Got up and chewed an old shoe every now and then and went back to sleep. Had to scoop her up to take her outside every now and then. I think it is because we are having such a lazy day ourselves just watching the whole series 4 of Dexter that she is so chilled. -

For some reason that reminds me of that time I took far too much acid in the mid 90s. -

Registered 10 years agoI want a dog, not sure why.
Maybe it's because every fucker else seems to be getting one.
Or because I get no affection from my wife and children.
The big problem would be exercising it would have to replace my bike rides. I couldn't be one of those people who cycle along with a dog bounding after me.
*Sigh* Give it another 5 years. -

Disaster of a morning! First day back to work and first morning alone for her since the 9th. Take he out quickly for last wee before I leave. Insane wind slams the door behind me. Stuck out in a communal gardens that is walled everywhere with no way to get back in. Pouring with rain. I'm going along the fence that runs along a walking path but no breaks in it. She of course thinks this is all a big game and gets all hyper which is the last thing I wanted when I was leaving her alone! Ended up having to climb a 6 foot dirty fence, in my suit, in the pouring rain, with a wriggly dog on my shoulder. Couldn't put her down on the other side either as other dogs etc. Walk along there. So had to carry her along the path, under a bridge up some stairs etc.
Fucking Knackered now! Only took her out for a wee which she didn't even do. And the awful weather appears to have fucked up my Internet as I can't get on to the e webcam surveillance to check she is okay.
Woe me etc. :-D -

Registered 9 years agoBad luck. Why not leave her in the garden & come back for her once you've got back in? -
She's a little escape artist and there are a lot of bushes and big trees in our garden which she isn't meant to go near right now until she is vaccinated. Done now but a bloody stress at the time! -
You should have your own sitcom mowgli. -
Just had our first walk. So much fun, a ton of attention and she behaved so well. Seems pretty non fussed about other dogs but bloody loves getting attention from people. -
I could be at risk of opening myself up for a complete flaming here, but sod it, I'll post it anyway. Here's my blog post today about a lesson learned. http://meyoucoffee.wordpress.com/2012/11/27/walking-the-dog/ -

Registered 12 years agoHey EG dog lovers!
We've git a lovely 3 year old lurcher(Stanley) and were now considering getting another. Went to shelter today and saw a lovely 6 month old Deerhound vimerana(no idea of spelling) cross. Any views on upgrading from 1 to 2? Almost looking to be dissuaded as I'd be doing most of the care. -

Registered 12 years agoWould be nice if dogs could walk each other, akthough i dread to think where Stanley would go.
Pointy dogs is best -
I fucking love my Bichon Olly. He's one of the family. I can't believe the dude who almost gave his 12 year companion to battersea for peeing. It would break my heart. -

Registered 16 years agoThe golden lab I had as a kid was called Stanley. Good name.
The dog with which the born child is growing up with is called Norman. We think he has some Weimeraner in him.
The next dog for the next child will be called Cecil. I think.
Two dogs are good, Goban. They keep each other company and while walking two at once on yer own can be a bug, tangled pain it's worth it. One dog good, two dog better, eh?
Fuck three though. That's too many. -

Registered 11 years agoI'm not a fan of Weimaraners after one of the bastards bit me for no reason when I was out for a run last month. Had to go to A & E to get a bloody tetanus jab.
Always found them a bit skittish and unpredictable.
Although I guess like any dog, it ultimately comes down to the owner.

Registered 12 years agoI had quite a scare the other night: Didn't "quite" manage to connect my pooch's chain to his collar when I put him outside to go wee, since it was late and I was half asleep. When I went back outside to get him, he was standing next to his chain which was laying on the ground.
He could have run, but he didn't, which he's done a number of times in the past (with previous owners mostly). I thanked him for saving me from a lifetime of grief! -
Had a fright yesterday when some overexcited dog (bit of a terrier in it but about the size of a springer) decided to attach my pup. Was over very quickly but almost punted the cunt of her. -

Surely the third dog should be called Fletcher to continue the trend?
