The Budget Gaming PC thread • Page 87
I just bought a pc from ccl with a 7850 graphics card, 8 gig ram, and Intel i5 3450 processor for 600, not including monitor and kb&m.
With an Intel i3 3220 processor and 7770 graphics card it would have been just over £500.

Yeah because the average gamer runs benchmarks all day instead you know playing games.
There is no denying that Intel are leading the cpu race but not everyone can afford the premium that Intel offer,to say AMD cant cut it as a gaming platform is spurious at best and fanboyism at its worst.
And who the fuck are you calling kid? Patronizing twat.
It's not about picking your favorite chip manufacturer, it's about helping a fellow forumite out by giving them the choice of a superior product for the same money.
...and i was calling you a kid.
Padchewer buys his first PC.
@rodpad - the price of the one I mentioned included windows, so probably pretty much identical in price if you factor that in.
Still, I'm happy with the one I bought. Don't need top specs so should be more than enough with the 7850 and i53450.
On the whole AMD debate, as long as your pc plays the games you want then it really doesn't matter whether others think its shit. The amount of conflicting advice on the internet about pcs is ridiculous, I've found.
overcorpse wrote:So hang on, you're saying that at this moment in time you'd buy the i5 pc over a AMD pc for the equivalent price. Isn't that exactly what we've been saying to the OP with the link on the last page?
And that was the point i was trying to make, for 520 quid i can go out and buy a machine that out of the box can play the latest games at high settings.I just refuse to accept peoples notions that AMD cant cut it as a gaming platform.
If i had the extra cash quid i would of gone Intel i5 all the way but i never so i was looking for the best bang for my buck possible as it were and that happened to be AMD.
And im pretty disraught at that i5 rig as i would of bought that at that price when i bought my PC a month ago.Freshtech you cunts.
Crikey those Fresh Tech PCs are a bit of a bargain.
Betfenix shinobi case
Corsair 650w psu
Sapphire 7850 OC edition (and then overclocked again)
128gb Samsung ssd
Blu ray burner
Gigabyte z77 mobo
Lg ips 23" monitor
Ms wireless mouse & keyboard
All came to about a grand. That runs pretty much everything on max detail @ 60fps at 1080p, apart from a couple of things (pCARS and sleeping dogs for me) where I either have to knock a setting or two down a notch or accept fewer fps. Will probably update the GPU next year at some point, but the 7850 is nearly 200 cheaper than - gtx 670 at the moment and simply isn't worth it for me at present - I would barely notice any difference
If you're seriously on a tight budget, an A10 APU and no GPU with 8GB 1600 DDR will run most games very nicely.
@superdelphinus BUDGET gaming thread. £1k is NOT "budget" by any imagination!
Sorry completely wrong thread!!
I've lost the right one now
It's okay, more to save you less polite people!
That's a full PC, bar peripherals, built on an A10. You could cut it down easily by using a cheaper, lower power PSU, but £410 for a full PC and Windows is pretty damn good.
You could probably take at least 50 off that by being clever about how you are getting win 8

Shouldn't this be the AMD thread, instead of budget thread?

Do you need a monitor included for that price? The graphics card doesn't look all that great on your link.
At CCL you can get an Intel i3 3220 and nvidia 650 graphics card for £510. If you want to spend an extra £100 I can send you the spec of the one I just ordered if you like?
@andytheadequate whos ccl? £600 al in witha monitor so not too fussed abou screen at the mo, hy seem aloteasier to choose
