Piccalilli is also a cracking condiment, however it will never hold the same place in my heart as Branston Pickle.

Piccalilli just seems like a kids version of Branston, to me.

The problem with Branston pickle is it's far to mild.

I need my condiments to have a bit of an edge to them.

/points at jar of wholegrain mustard in fridge

Have you ever tried Piccalilli?? It would blow most kids heads off!

You've got them the wrong way around.

Ooh, haven't seen this around for years. Used to use it in "The Filth Sandwich". St. Stephen's (Boxing) Day sandwich with turkey, ham, cheese, sliced green olives, mayonnaise, stuffing and tangy sandwich pickle. Not particularly filthy but it was heavy going.

    I want one. Now.

Did you know it's the same compound in mustard, horseradish and wasabi that gives them their strength? Maybe. Did you know the compound does this by activating 'painful cold' receptors in the tongue? :-)
