Serves the fucker right for trying to get the whale to jump through hoops or whatever.

Registered 20 years agoThat'll teach me to watch 5 news then. Twas reported as if the whale was trying to kill the trainer, but was too big and clumsy to get a grip on him or something.
Mind you a killer whale can rip a seal in half so I can't see it having too much trouble with a wetsuited mong.

Registered 18 years agoThey eat sharks too, they truly r0xx0r. In the Sydney Morning Herald they were saying the whale was a bit on the randy side. As templar said (EG's answer to Jacques Cousteau that he is) if ti had wanted to kill him, he'd have lasted only seconds. -

With the distant memory of that poor kid and the labrador incident at my school still there, I think I'd rather be ripped to bits by a whale than humped by one...

tbh, its a butchered clip, you cant see shit, the video is too small and the res is bad. you really have to see it from a primary source on tv or dvd or similar. -

Registered 18 years agoI watched a documentry on Killer Whales a while ago and it showed you them catching and killing a seal. The killer whale actually throws the seal about while its still alive. It plays with its food for a while then eats it. So that guy might of eventually got eatin. -

I saw that one! They reckon it's one of the only animals apart from us that takes pleasure in torturing it's victim! Also said they do it to stun the seal so they can train the little 'uns how to catch seals!

Leopard seals are well nasty - one of them killed a young researcher for the British Antarctic Survey last year. There was a great part of Blue Planet, which showed one of them hiding behind an ice floe to sneak up on penguins. It was amusing to see it peeking round the corner waiting for the penguins to jump into the sea. Clever boy... -

Registered 18 years agoOrca thinks they're playing a game, goes a little too far but later calms down.
It's a wild animal, they're extremly powerfull, even if they're just playing along.
If he really was trying to kill the guy he would have just open his mouth and ripped him to shreads in a second. -

Registered 18 years agoOne lucky guy.. to his credit he kept his cool.
It happens "all the time".. trainers of wild animals think they know their "pet" and then shit happens. Reminds me of the true story of a german zookeeper who felt he had a special bond with the lions he was taking care of, so he brought a cameraman with him, illegally, at night to document it. To everyones horror the lions killed the zookeeper and the cameraman got it all on tape.. can't imagine I'd record it, but then again, I can't imagine I'd be in that situation at all..
Don't mess with mother nature.. she's a bitch! -
