Registered 15 years agoBlue Dragon is oddly scat obsessed, so I don't really want to get into its sexual proclivities.

TLDR: If you're a fan of turn-based JRPGs and wanted to play one on the 360, you didn't have many options. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were two of the few. You really have to pay them both.
My point has always and will always be that Lost Odyssey is a rubbish game. Pretentious, full of crap writing, crappy poems and simply boring. I had a lot more fun with Blue Dragon.

If you want to play a shit version of Dragon Quest play Blue Dragon.
If you want to play another PS1 era Final Fantasy play Lost Odyssey. -

Registered 14 years agoI played BD and got bored after one hour. I played LO and got bored after six hours. I guess LO is the better game then.

Yet Lost Odyssey has nothing in common with Dragon Quest and BD has nothing in common with PS1 era FF.

Also as DQ has pretty much stuck to it’s routes, whilst maintaining quality there is no reason to play BD when the far superior DQXI exists.
Whereas FF has diverged, so if you want the PS1 feeling, LO is a viable option as it offers something different from the modern FFs. (Although FFXV and FFVIIR are better than LO. LO is better than FFXIII though).

I've had Lost Odyssey on my backlog for about 10 years. I played it originally when it came out and got about 4 hours in before dropping it for whatever reason. The most memorable thing was the music.. just stunning. I sometimes listen to it on youtube.
