I have a DVD, which I have bought...no sailing the high seas here , of a Heavy Metal opera which I would like to rip the soundtrack from, so I can play it on my Ipod. Can anyone suggest any software that could help me? I have an Intel Macbook, with just Leopard on it, no snow falling. The DVD is called Ludus Danielis: The Play of Daniel, featuring the members of Vanden Plas...if anyone was interested ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1_s1_MOJxk |

SmartRipper will rip a DVD and IIRC you can choose to rip just the audio although it rips as a .wav file.

Once you've ripped the dvd you can demux it with tsmuxer to get the audio. -

Registered 16 years agoAudio Hijack would do the job nicely. You'd have to rip it in real time though (i.e. as you're listening to it) but that shouldn't be too onerous. -

Registered 15 years agoMarked as interesting. There is a little sequence in Before Night falls that I had been humming for at least 5 years before I finally forgot it. It's not on the soundtrack and I am not looking forward to sitting through that pile of shit once again, but for that haunting melody, I certainly would. -

Oops, missed the bit where you said you were running Leopard(in that case ignore SmartRipper).

ffmpegX will extract the audio for you. You may need to rip the DVD first using Handbrake or something.
