Stand By Me, when you find out about what happened to the gang. Great film, it properly choked me the first time I saw it.

I loved that film when I was ten. I remember having a week off school after I'd faceplanted the pavement, and I watched that film every day.

    Hasn't done me any harm.

Kids films are evil, they make me sad.

    Superman Returns

"You wrote that the world doesn't need a savior, but every day I hear people crying for one"

    ;_;!

    Get so emotional watching that.

Gay. Gladiator is the most overrated movie featuring codpieces in this thread.

    Forrest Gump
    The Green Mile
Philadelphia (for the last 15 minutes or so I was pretty much continuously sobbing, never cried so much at a film before in my life)

Hmm, looking at the above 3, there seems to be something about Tom Hanks o_O

    More:

    Edward Scissorhands
The Lion King (I cried when I saw it in the cinema at the age of 3 or 4, and I stil cry now)
LOTR Trilogy (various bits, but the "You bow to no man" sticks out)

That is a fucking amazing movie. Although I feel the need to watch The Little Mermaid afterwards to cheer myself up.

The problem I had with RfaD was that the film making was a little... I dunno... exposed. When I was watching it I felt for the characters but instead of being invested I was commenting to myself about how they did that was a good representation of X and Y rather than being in the moment. I'm not a film buff or anything and things like that rarely happen, but when it does there is a barrier there.

Pay It Forward - That ending gets me every time.

An American Tail - If you don´t cry while watching this, you´re a heartless bastard. As someone said before, movies for kids are evil.

I think it's one of the worst films I've ever seen :p

Yeah, Shane Meadows movies affect me quite a bit.

Edit: The Fountain is another one that gets me, though I suspect that's more to do with the music. (That said, I recommend reading the graphic novel while listening to the score).

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I'd be interested to see how he deals with a female lead as he tends to do a great job of creating fascinating male characters.

Watched a bit of An officer and a Gentleman last night and the bit where he finds his mate hanging brought a big lump to my throat. I do think that as I get older more things get to me. Maybe a case of realizing my own mortality.

Hard as nails as a kid..

    It's Danny Elfman's score that helps a LOT, it's so haunting and beautiful ;_;

I can only watch it every now and again cos I find it so sad, haha

    "Hold me."

    "I can't..."
