I`m in. I think it`s good to allow assists, but it would be good if everyone can say what they used exactly so that we can learn more about the game. I will be on AT , SC off, ABS Max, TC3 or 2 for now, and braking zones on until I learn the brake points properly. Using a pad also. I will probably take down the assists and go to MT in the future but it`s a completely new game for me and a long process learning all these cars and tracks and braking points. I'll be TC 1, ABS 1, SC 1 or 0. If people could state wheel or pad as well for curiosity. I'm on pad.

Just had a quick go at this. 1:16.20.

MT, assists off apart from the default ABS setting, racing line was on, and using a pad. Not a very good lap, but the first corner is evil, so I normally crash there at least 50% of the time.

Nice work, Crazy.
I will hook up a few laps this weekend.
I need something to take my mind of a rather frustrating evening with Metal Gear Online... I dont want to talk about it so dont ask

(Or just pop over to the MGS thread to read my rant...).

How about setting up a "Eurogamer Group" for this stuff. Then we can keep the clutter out of the Main fourms and have our own little space

Thanks for that; I entered the codes and and two shiney new supercars duly entered the garage. Which was nice...

Is there something up with the split timer display btw? I was on one lap where my best time (at that point) was a 1:16:08 and coming onto the final oval drag it looked like I was 0.7 ahead of my best split - I thought I was well on for a push at the best time overall but when I crossed the line, my lap was still in the 1:16's. Anyone esle come across this?

when i stopped, my best time was that 1:16:08 but the freaking game had me down for a 1:16:31! BAH! With my dander well and truly up, I went back in for a few more laps - I got a 1:16:01 and this time it stuck!

So, in summary:

The first corners is a bloody nightmare. Screw that up and you can forget about a decent lap.

The first corner is probably the most important i've found, can easily lose or gain about a second there. Very tricky though, I try and lose some speed on the first high speed part of the corner, and leave most of my braking for the short straightish bit. Apply to much brake on the fast corner though and you go off the track.

Another important part is the 2nd of the two furthest infield corners. A great lap would require that to be taken flat out without sliding, which would require very smooth steering, but i'm still easing off the throttle sightly on entry to be a bit more consistent.

@TheBrow, I just looked into that timing issue you mentioned as I could recall reading something about that on the official forums.

It seems it's a known bug. On the first lap the timer starts about 0.5-0.6s after the real start/finish line, making the first lap shorter. Subsequent laps are not affected.

I guess in the interests of fairness then we should agree to avoid using the first lap of a session for the time trial?

Yeah I noticed that, luckily in the interest of fairness it always takes me a few laps to get up to speed, have only managed 1:15.86 using Auto and racing line but no assists - way off the pace of Andee (will add ya) and Kill_Crazy.

17/10 is great, I think a week per track is plenty of time. Not sure I will have any time this week due to work and family commitments, but I would probably need several months anyway and can`t expect you all to wait. At least if I can learn a bit about the game and make sure others don`t have to suffer the indignity of finishing last it will have been worth it.... Amazing times you are all doing, we should somehow try to meet up for an online race on the TT track to put the practice into action.

17/10 is fine for me too. Managed to improve to 1:14.53. Annoyingly I've twice been 5 tenths up on on that lap before messing up at the hairpin, I can't handle the pressure

Same settings again there for that.

Yeah it'd be good if we could arrange a weekly session for people to race against each other online using the same car and track.

My fastest time is 1:15.78 now (auto, no assists, racing line on) still way off the pace, but agree with you Andee, keep doing the same thing, still not able to put together one lap without messing up a turn.

Just did a 1:15.68 MT but still getting wheelspin coming off the slow corners. Agree about the first corner it makes or breaks the lap i'm braking enough to drop into 4th before the first kink and I know theres time to brake later it's just finding the line to keep it straight without going off-track.

Just noticed your request for pad/wheel use KC, i did this with the pad still struggling with braking using the wheel any tips from other wheel users appreciated.

We've now got 7 active TT-ers and hopefully a few more will pop up over the weeks. If anyone wants to make some suggestions for the next car/ track combo then feel free as the more time the better. Maybe the Zonda/ DBR9/ Enzo next as everyone will have them too?

As for suggestions for next weeks car, the Zonda is rather tricky to handle, so that could be an interesting option, or for exactly the same reasons a very bad one. The other car from that unlock code looks interesting too, but anything is fine by me.

Never driven the Sterling Moss car but could be a good one to do. Maybe on a more familiar track like spa.

Wouldn't mind Riviera as the next track, nailing a good lap there is one of the highlights of this game.
