There almost as many mobile phones as there are forum users so I'm not expecting any replies to this, but here goes:

Anyone got one of these? What's the text entry like? Have you got the GPS working via Route66?

    Ta.

I have one.. once you calibrate the screen for your fingers the text entry is very good. For a resistive touch screen it's extremely responsive.

Haven't tried the GPS but some others have and said it was good. I think there's one or two free alternatives to Route 66 too.

Other than that, I'm not a huge fan of the inbuilt browser so you'll want to get Opera Mini. Camera is very good too.

I haven't got one by the way, I'm due on upgrade next month and I've got my beady little eye on it. Where are you getting the apps (widgets?) from?

Tbh I haven't even looked. I know Samsung were supposed to launch their app store but I dunno if they have. They're a bit poor for support of their phones because they release so many so quickly. You have Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, AccuWeather and others. And there's a widget that launches "Get more widgets" but i havent used it.

Forfor to mention, amazing screen too, it being OLED and that.

I downloaded the Samsung Appstore on my old Omnia 2 weeks ago and its not bad. The complaint I had was that one of the apps I downloaded, Samsungs weird motion controlled noise maker, required a download of some .net libraries that knackered my phone and required a factory reset.

Also, I cannot go back to resistive screens after using capacitive. The difference is night and day.

I would have said similar after my dealing with older HTC phones but the Samsung TC is very very good for resistive. In fact, it uses r-resistive tech. I'd say it'd be somewhere in between capacitive and resistive. Not as slight as capacitive, not as heavy as resistive.

    Bump.

I need a new phone after my last one went on an aquatic adventure.

This is cheapish - around 120 quid and seems to have everything I need.

    Any positive or negative feedback?

I hate my current Samsung phone and would never get another. However it's not a jet so that's probably unhelpful. Sorry.
