And a vibrant economy, thriving cultural scene and cutting edge scientific/innovation sector etc! And friendly people - it always strikes me on return from overseas/rUK that you just don't have random conversations with strangers the same way you do in Glasgow....that might just be Glasgow.

It's the whole of the north to be honest, including England.

The North - No culture, but lots of friendly folk.

The South - Lots of culture, no friendly folk.

I say that as a southerner. I would never live north of, say, Birmingham - just too far away from London and the south coast, but whenever I do go up north I do enjoy the warmth of character.

So glad I dismantled my daughters trampoline last week otherwise I'd be fishing it out of a neighbours garden and paying to replace windows!

I on the other hand didn't dismantle my boys trampoline and woke up to find it upside down half in a neighbours garden. It's a bit broken.

I'm such a tool, I totally forgot about it last night :(
Was it anchored down or free standing?

I used to swap Spectrum games with the wee brother of a recent Turner Prize winner, can't get much more cultured than that.

Plus Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland, The Krankies etc. Thriving music and comedy scenes. Not that I actually access any of this.

I had power, yet my vita is sadly uncharged.

I only found out when I tried to use it to avoid Celebrity Big Brother which my wife unfortunately  appears to want to watch.

    That was a minor disaster.

Yep, if I had the light to get some painting done, but it's too bloody overcast.

As for the trains, it's better cancelling everything and giving advanced notice. Reminds me how chaotic Bawbag 1 was, taking two hours from Edb to Inverkeithing, only to dump 200 passengers there, with 200 more trying to get into Edinburgh. We ended up abandoning everyone and fucking off sharpish (no insurance) back to Edb empty. Ended up in the hairiest four hour taxi trip home !
