Registered 3 years agoThree days ago, no snow forecast.
Two days ago, it was going to hit us this afternoon.
No snow, and the "forecast" has just been pushed back every few hours whenever some cunt at the met office looks out the window.

Registered 13 years ago[on the phone to Psychotext] Psycho, forget what I said about trying to head South. It's too late for that. The storm is just going to get worse.
I will come for you, do you understand me? I will come for you. -

I'm afraid it's too late for them. If they go outside, the storm will kill them. At this point, their best chance is to stay inside. Try to ride it out. Pray.

Registered 15 years agoFuck this snow it can fuck off, I have a day off tomorrow to spend with the missus and want to go to Exeter and it seems I may not get there. I'm annoyed. My 5 year old is in excitement overload though. -

Registered 13 years agoNothing here at the moment unlike yesterday when the planned trip to Cumbria to do the Catbells walk nearly ended up with us being stuck or in a hedge in temperatures as low as - 6 over the tops.
My rally driving experience* saved us from a wall and remembering to switch off the traction control system got us there. We really shouldn't have gone if I'm honest but the walk was great.

Registered 9 years agoBit of snow on Bristol, deep enough that your shoe sinks into it. Proper snow. Quite pleasant; I can understand why people dislike it when it becomes grey slush, but when it's powdery and white it's pretty enjoyable.
Didn't stop me getting to temple meads, off to a beer festival. -

Without wanting to rehash the argument from a year ago, a couple of days of snow a year doesn't make it worthwhile or cost effective. Same for a lot of the infrastructure necessary to keep everything running properly.
Winter tyres FFS.
