You don't need winter tyres for the 1mm of snow you get and the 1 or 2 weeks there's ice on the roads.

If they were cost effective and useful people would buy them, is your answer.
Once more, they are not just for ice and snow, they're for better control and braking in COLD temperatures.
I've always driven absolute bangers and I've never had 1 accident in 15 years.

Anecdotal sure, but I think you've got to be a bit of a shit driver if you need special stabilizers for the odd week.

I've got to drive to London from Leeds tonight so now I've said this I look forward to ending up in a hedge on the A1.

How many accidents on U.K. roads are caused because the temperature range of the tyres was 2 degrees out of the optimum, rather than just being shit drivers/distracted/recklessness/negligence etc

Iím all for winter tyres in places that need them, but the U.K. generally isnít that place. Fuck changing tyres over, storing all year round, rebalancing every time etc when I can just drive a little slower when the weather dictates

Look everyone, just put on snow tyres and install a slow cooker in your boot, Ecosse says it's good for you and who are you to disagree. And while you're at it start eating 90% chocolate too.

I was given a 100% cocoa advent calendar at Christmas. Pretty grim to be honest

100% cocoa really isn't great for eating as a general rule.

I've been a Hotel Chocolat tasting club member for about 10 years and I only really tend to use that stuff for cooking with unless it's been conched for some comical amount of time.

Thatís the one I got, Hotel Chocolat

Just nasty in all honesty. Had to cut it with a malteser to make it edible which Iím sure isnít how they intended it to be eaten. Surely someone there realises no one really enjoys eating pure, dry, savoury cocoa

    100% is for amateurs.

I roast and grind raw cocoa beans onto my chocolate.

    125%.

Is that like chocolate biltong, where 125g of beef makes 100g of biltong

Heat is all kinds of wrong out there, already. Like, unnatural levels of wrong.
If this is a sign of things to come then I'm going to get this in early:
    FUCK OFF, SUN.

17 degrees outside earlier according to the car temp gauge, turned all the heating off in the house as well. Not your usual February weather.

Well, the planet doesn't give a shit either way, and there's no way we've comprehensively fucked all life on the planet, but the current crop of large organisms are probably fucked.

Don't worry though, life will continue. The tardigrades will be fine, and from them will spout new and interesting life.

All I know is I had to go for a walk to get a sarnie at lunch, and by the time I came back I was swearing.

Sweating. I meant... Actually, no, I was right the first time.

I've been reading "A brief history of nearly everything" by Bill Bryson and from what I've learn't we're screwed anyway.

If a meteorite doesn't get us or a volcano or magnetic polarity switch or desalination etc, then we've been buggering up the atmosphere and the oceans for years. Apparently there are hundreds of thousands of barrels of radioactive material dumped into the ocean. The good thing is though we've so heavily over fished the oceans that there's bugger all left in them to be affected.
