@Dougs ha, I wouldn't say I nearly died. I was a bit wet and my eye was frozen shut. Nothing that a change of sighs and 10 minutes by the fire didn't sort.

Which just goes to show that -40 temperatures really aren't that bad. Unless, as noted, there's a lot of wind.

I think we probably do have the infrastructure but the councils are cash strapped. And yeah living in Denmark you don't always feel the cold in the winter because you have the proper clothes and it isn't a damp cold. Invest in some merino wool leggings and top. British love a good moan ;)

It's because we don't have REALLY shit weather. Just a bit of mildly inconveniencing weather for a few weeks a year, so no-one knows how to cope with it, and no infrastructure to back it up.
True... although with that said, I came back from -30 in Norway to minus 5 here and honestly, the minus 5 felt worse (I assume because it was so much wetter / more windy here).

My face got so cold walking the dogs I think I know what it feels like to have botox. My lockdown beard kept the bottom half warm at least.

Didn't think I'd be sunning myself in the garden today with a pina colada, but here we are.

Last night was horrendous with the wind and rain battering the house. Feels like it's rained every day since October.

That's because it pretty much has done. Been a very long and wet winter this year. Most of the places we normally walk the dogs have been impassable without wellies

I saw a young man with taps aff this afternoon.

Not sure it's quite that warm.

Also he had a fishing road so maybe he was just mad.

Lovely sunny day, so much so I thought I'd set the paddling pool up for the dog. He then proceeded to avoid it like the plague :-)

You might want to specify the decade...https://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/london/ec4a-2/september-weather/328328?year=2020

Yep same. Loving life in the garden at the mo, maybe finally get a little colour back on this pasty body! Shame I've got to get the kids at 3, really fancy some ice cold drinks. Looking good for the next two days as well. :)
