    Skiing! In Austria!
Apparently they do big celebrations over there but I don't really care because
    (a) I've never really liked New Years anyway
    (b) I'll be fucking skiing the next day \o/

I'm going to get a job dealing in data-discs containing recorded memories and emotions. Then just before NYE I'm going to receive a disc which contains the memories of a murderer killing a prostitute. I'll investigate and get pulled deeper and deeper in a whirl of blackmail, murder and rape. Will I survive and solve the case?

Or more likely, given the current economic climate, maybe I'll just go out and see some mates and have a few drinks or something. Can't be any worse than last year.

    I did that last year.

You must've been using one of my discs, you squidfreak! I actually did it in 1999 but I like replaying it because although I nearly died, it's better than last year when all my friends bullied me into having a party but then only 2 of them turned up.

There was this one NYE when I was going back to see my parents with my little brother on a cruise liner that was in a really bad state of repair and it got hit by a tidal wave and we had to escape while the ship was sinking and this really nice old fat lady died after doing something really heroic. Actually, only 6 of us made it out alive in the end. It was a hell of a night.

I think about 6 or so years ago I stopped doing the whole Big Night Out for NYE thing and now me and the mrs tend to just get together with our very closest friends and use it as an opportunity to spend normally foolish amounts of money on stupidly nice booze and have a slap up feast. A time to treat ourselves basically.

I have never looked back, it's gone from being an irritating excercise at best (charging to go in the pub you've supported several times a week for the rest of the year, trying to get home at 5am, fighting over cabs, over-priced booze, standing up all night with your face crammed into someone's armpits etc) to something enjoyable in every single possible way.

Or possibly, just possibly, I've always been a miserable cunt. Either way, this new NYE experience is working out well for me. I recommend it if you haven't tried it.

I used to like doing that, InfiniteFury, we would have a many coursed meal and spend all our cash on nice food & booze. This is likely to be my last NYE before parenthood though, so I figure I should at least make the effort to go out, and I have a nice cheap option in mind that should be fun. Assuming I can walk by then.

Staying in and playing D&D online. Maybe a couple of cigarettes.

Rock and roll. I have given up on birthdays and NYE.

Now the only time I do a bender is Ibiza.

No clue, but NYE is always a let down, it's built up to be the best night of the year.

Never lives up to it. Usually it's just a night of me arguing or falling about, sometimes both.

The stingy buggers at Aberdeen Council are not having entertainment on at the Castlegate this year. Usually work with other roadie pals at it but for the 1st time in ages, there is no work for them. With no street party shenanigans this means the pubs will be ram packed.

Probably best year to have a house/flat New Year party but with 2 young kids I'll probably be at my hoose with the wife.

My wife just got a job at Aberdeen City Council. I've quickly come to realize it's no wonder they are totally skint. Spend a little to much on needless stuff for their employees...

But why anyone wants to hang about in the freezing cold on Hogmany is beyond me!

Watched the last two episodes of the Witcher and then played Witcher 3 and finished White Orchard. Now I'm in bed...I know how to party.

Made a chicken Madras, drinking various boozes, watching episodes of The Witcher and random YouTube videos - very much enjoyed this one:

.. wife's gone out to a friend's to help with her many kids!
