3D Dot Game Heroes PSP? BTW looks like Nippon Ichi have another PSP game with randon dungeons coming up, maybe it would be better to have one thread for the dev, and only break off into new ones that more than two people actually buy.

Registered 12 years agoBig lesson here - do not attempt to play the game a few hours after playing something like Kingdom Hearts! The retro style will kill!
Apart from that, I like what I saw (very little). Barring heavy rain, I'll give it a few commutes... -

Registered 13 years agoLoving this! Love the art style, the typical NIish humour and the added depth the customisation offers. But more than that, I love the fact the dungeon floors can take about 30 seconds to complete making this the ultimate portable RPG .gif)

I had this issue but was able to purchase direct from my psp. Worth a try if you don't go for HA's solution. -

Registered 13 years agoOpted for HAway's system and picked up a £20 PSN voucher at Tesco yesterday (alongside AC:brotherhood for £26 on 360 \o/) and I am loving this. Tried the direct purchase from psp jonsaan but no dice.
Love the classic approach to level design and the way the story leaks out between dungeons. Only a couple of hours in but the customization the magic circle system offers and the equipment stacking make this a bite sized re playable joy so far.

Got too greedy in the random dungeons and lost a shed load of EXP and gold as a result - and all my items. Stupid blooming sleep traps and monsters that can't die from physical attack... -

Registered 12 years agoHaving said that, it did teach me to be more vigilant in my weapon and ability choices and I'm now far more comfortable and back in the dungeon that got me last time!
It's a shame I've capped the levels though for my own sanity
Edit: The only thing that annoys me is that some of the game mechanics aren't really explained that well (like Widen - I can't get it to work). Also, you can only see the growth path of a given job class in Character Creation - nowhere else :/ -

Registered 12 years agoWell, I got widen to work eventually. Turns out that if you put it in an ability space, it doesn't widen anything along the path, only the spell/ability assigned to the slot . Put it at the start of the path and it doubles (or whatever you have) the abilities that follow (as well as the mana requirements). Putting it at the end of the path does not work.
