I think it was supposed to mirror/foreshadow the Luke "NOOOooooOOOOO!" anguish in Empire Strikes Back. Or maybe ROTJ.

Not saying it worked, mind. It was shit. But I think he was trying to draw connections to the original trilogy.

I don't think I'd have stuck with it for the full 70 minutes if he'd done it in a normal voice.

I like the finish on that acoustic.

I like the voice, I think it complements the point he is making.

This is pretty much the funniest thing I've seen in years. It's probably the best review of any film ever.

edit - The Phantom Menace review that is. Also, the Star Trek: Generations review had me in tears. The bit about how the rocket could not have reached the sun in 5 seconds is genius.

Loved both of his Star Wars reviews, both hilarious while making serious points about the flaws of the movies at the same time. He's also got a new review up on his site, Baby's Day Out or something (the movie that the 'hooker' put on instead of RotS at the end of his AotC review), thought I'd give it a watch even though I've never seen the film, and it was pretty funny as you would expect. There's one bit of it that almost had me in tears of laughter. Link.

Hadn't watched the movie either but its not necessary, again, brilliant review. Might even be funnier than The Phantom Menace review. The guy is a genius :D

I'm on part 5 (of AOTC) and I'm laughing my arse off. It may help that I'm drunk but all his points about the film being shit are perfectly cromulent.

I guess it gives it a run for its money, but I think the PM one just pips it. The bit I found most hilarious (though a lot of it was hilarious) was that bit where the three guys are on that bench, and the cops come to check on them, but they don't think anything is suspicious when the guy keeps making weird faces and yelling in pain, when he obviously has something under his coat. Got even funnier when the baby set fire to his crotch! And then he timed the scene and it was like 6 minutes long or something ridiculous.

I'm waiting for a time to watch them all in one go, but in the Phatom Menace one I loved the bit where they were showing the expression of disappointment on Rick Mccallum's face.

I can't watch The Phantom Menace now without wishing Neeson was replaced by Jeff "Lebowski/Dude" Bridges. :D

    Instant improvement in my book.

Everyone's favourite psychopath murderer takes a look at the new Star Trek.

And very good it is too.

Cheers Whizzo, I really like that movie but I'll still probably enjoy him taking it apart.
