Looking forward to it, I've been blasting out the old albums in the car all week in anticipation.

Registered 17 years agoLoved that. Been away too long, sounded brilliant, Chris's vocals spot on, rest of the lads obviously first class. CD sent out to me yesterday
I'm going to play the shit out of it! -

Registered 13 years agoThat's good to hear. I was going to watch it, but ended up leaving it and will savour the longer version of the show on friday.
They *must* get to play at least three songs in that surely! -

Registered 17 years agoI have listened to King Animal 3 times back to back now and can report...it is EXCELLENT. Stand outs for me Been away too long ,Non-state Actor ,Blood on the valley floor, Black Saturday (Soundgarden just love Black
) Rowing, but the other 8 tracks are also great. I bought the deluxe CD ( yes some old farts still buy hard copies of music )which comes we 3 demo's from the album as well.
One complaint, the cardboard gatefold sleeve is to stiff, so it ripped when I removed the booklet, not a massive deal but still. -

Registered 13 years agoBeen away too long is great and all too true.
Can't wait to get my mitts on this next week.
May well treat myself to the new Neil Young & Crazy Horse cd too.
-
Enjoyed them on Jools Holland.. mainly the interview and Rusty Cage
-
Mine got dispatched today as well. I too got the deluxe version. I love collecting cds. I'm starting to collect vinyl now as well, and when jools pulled out the vinyl i was like so want.
I watched been away too long last night and went to bed, dreamt that chris went awol at two door cinema club for being shit and mocking the lead singer. Beer for you!
caught the rest tis morning. pretty good show as i like bat for lashes too. -
So how's the new album going down chaps?
Only heard 'Been Away Too Long' so far, and aside from Cameron's drumming I thought it was a Down on the Upside b-side at best

Registered 13 years ago@FuzzyDuck this is, BATL is about the 2nd weakest track on the album. the rest is all awesome, except for halfway there which is utter bobbins. Worse dreams is my favorite track at the moment. -

I love all of the album. -
Hmm, interesting, seeing as it's diving opinion I'll just have to check the album out in full.

Registered 13 years agoWell I bought this today. Big riffs- check. Chris Cornell vocals- check.
Only had the one listen through so far, but it certainly gets the thumbs up for me.
Sticking it in the car and driving home with 'Been away too long' blaring out was most enjoyable.
It didn't feel like an old b-side to me Fuzzy.
It may not be as good an album as badmotorfinger, but few are and it definitely sounds pretty good to me. -
Yeah it doesn't fill like a complete album, but theres some killer stuff in here. imperssed with it. It feels like a collection of songs, rather than a album.
The band sound massive, its great. Kim, ben and matt sound great. Chris has his moments, but he is quite honed in compared to the rest of the band, but it works.
Love rowing and eyelids mouth and attrition. Non state actor and crooked feet are awesome. Good album. -

That great, i got told he was doing it on his songbook tour as well.
FUCK wish i got tickets for brixton. It's so fucking expensive to get from cornwall to london (100quid), plus hotel, food, easily looking at 200 quid, and i'm going up already to see Mogwai in july. -

Interestingly, I dug out my clear vinyl copy the other day. Wonder if it's worth anything? -

Bumpity bump.
Been listening to this a good bit over the last week or so and I hate to report that it's leaving me completely cold. With the exception of 'Bones of Birds' it feels like Soundgarden by numbers.
Cameron's drumming is exceptional throughout (and it's far more stylised than his work with Pearl Jam), but aside from that the album is wholly forgettable.
Oh well, back to 'Badmotorfinger' I go

Morning FD
Cut them some slack
It is the gang and they are back after many years away, give 'em a chance.
I fookin love the album, I think the guys sound tight, but then CC could read the phone book and I would buy it. hence me owning Scream!
Also they are not going to write songs like they did when they were young men, families experience etc all get in the way.
The main thing is they still sound great, have you listened to "Songbook" the man can still sing. -

I didn't like it at first, seriously it took me a fair few listens for it to click and now I love it, I guess it wasn't heavy enough for me and using the echo in Cornells voice was putting me off in most of the songs, it has grown on me though and now listen to it on most of my bike rides.
