Anyone done this? There's kits on ebay from Hong Kong for under £20 that include the receiver the flash stands on and the transmitter to go on the flash hot shoe, but it all sounds a bit too cheap to me. Can any of you recommend anything else that doesn't break the bank? I'm going to be shooting a singer soon-ish, and will be using my softboxes indoors, but if we go outside somewhere I might want to use my flash. Or perhaps I should just risk the £20 and see what turns up?

I have a cheapo thingy, it's fine. It doesn't like very fast shutter speeds but otherwise it's faultless. Don't spend lots on it, honestly

Actually you can just have mine if you want it. I haven't used it for ages and aren't likely to in the near future

Up to you, it's yours if you want it. Put the money towards something more exciting :)

Tempted to get one myself. Getting a bit fed up with tripping over the sync lead all the time!

Well, Canons £150 can do full E-TTL which is very useful for high shutter speeds outside in the sun, yours can't :-I But anyway, optical wireless is shit if you're outside, can't understand why they don't upgrade their flashes with proper wireless and add a proper control mode to the cameras. I bet Nikon will be first with this.

And oh, I use Elinchromes Skyports to trig mine. They are ok but a bit too pricey for what they offer.
