Is Bayonetta's control latency high?

I'd be very interested to know how Bayonetta rates on this. For a game that's so focused on slit-second timing, it routinely feels like the response just isn't there. Anyone else have the same reaction?

I am getting old, but not so old I can't still rock Ninja Gaiden 2. And just because the game runs at 60fps doesn't mean the latency is ideal, I'd almost be willing to bet it's over 100ms. I don't know how much latency my TV adds for that matter, but it does have a game mode... but even when trying to grab the crows in Bayonetta, it routinely looks like I've pressed the button well before the X icon disappears and it doesn't register.
