There's probably gonna be an iPhone X Plus next year which will be relatively close to the mini's screen size. So I not only don't see the mini being updated in the future, but also that it's going to be retired in 1-2 years. |

Registered 14 years agoThis thread will do... anyone else have issues viewing the forum on iPad? Since the site update it's been properly screwed on ours- times new roman text and boxes drifting over the posts so you can't read the bottom line. Annoying! Any easy fix suggestions would be most welcome. -

Registered 10 years agoCan anyone tell me if they are due to release a new standard (not pro) iPad in the near future?
I want to buy one but am concerned they may be about to update it again as I hear Apple are bringing out a new Pro model. -

Registered 18 years agoI get the feeling there won’t be a new non-Pro iPad this time around, only 6 months since last one, especially given that the point of it isn’t to be bleeding edge and rapidly evolving.
Can you wait until the end of the month? I’m assuming they’ll be announced within 4 weeks.

What’s your price prediction on the new pros?
£1k? -

Registered 18 years agoBlimey. I shudder to think these days. I’d expect little change from £1k for a base storage cellular, eek! I see that’s currently £749. £899 this time around? o_0

I just googled and it looks like the last one only came out in March so I guess there won’t be a refresh this year. I guess I can wait til the announcement.

Registered 18 years agoThe new Pro looks really nice. With the USB-C feature it’s a genuine functional upgrade from the current Pro too.
That said, I’m going to japan in December and it’s £150 less there so I think I can wait a few weeks. -

Registered 17 years agoI'm also in the market for a Series 4 watch and a replacement phone for my 6S. I'm actually eyeing up cheap flights to a low tax US state for a long weekend of rampant consumerism. Fuck's sake. -

Registered 16 years agoI've put in an order for the cheapest 11incher.
Will ponder it, but wanted to secure release day delivery in case.
Bit of a downer on the price of cellular. Not sure its worth almost £200 -

Which makes it genuinely baffling that they released this years iPhones with lightning ports.

Registered 17 years agoBought an iPad Pro tonight, to replace my 2013 MacBook Pro. Like it so far, but it’s going to take some getting used to all the gestures for everything.
Now that they run iPadOS it’ll genuinely be able to replace everything I do on my laptop, as well as let me read comics and sketch on it.
Got the keyboard folio and pencil2 with it. -

Registered 4 years agoDoubt they’ll refresh the line anytime soon to prevent cannibalizing the upcoming MacBook Pro refresh.
That being said they work pretty well in tandem with each other, especially the sidecar functionality in iPadOS.

Registered 16 years ago@Derblington DI have a 2011 MacBook Air which the SSD died on recently (got a new SSD fitted for £250 - supply and fit). I could never imagine replacing my laptop with an iPad. -

Registered 17 years agoI wouldn’t have thought I would either until iPadOS. It’s a game changer for making it feel more practical.
I was waiting for a refresh too but it’s looking like Q1 2020, and based on what’s been mentioned in the rumors none of the upgrades were important to me. A screen that supports HDR was the single thing that would have made the difference, but I can’t see me watching too much TV on it anyway, and not enough to really care. It comes with a year of TV+, so it’s nice that I’ll be able to check out the stuff there.
Bought an Apple Watch S5 too, and my new 11 Pro Max should be here in the next couple of weeks. It’s fun new tech time! -

@Derblington How have you been getting on with this setup?
I'm tempted to go down the iPad Pro + folio + pencil route this year, and like to think that I'd be able to use it for photography editing (as well as a bunch of other things). -
