Holy shit - getting the fangamer email has made we realise that we're only 2 months from release!!!

I'm very excited. Have installed 1&2 remakes and will try to plough through them as a refresher ahead of 3's arrival...

So the demo is in my e-mail inbox this morning! Unfortunately, I have to go to work right now, but what a thing to come home to!!

    @Dolly

Let us know what you think when you get the chance to play it!

I've started my Shenmue 1 remaster play through. Incredible nostalgia hit - especially the music and audio effects. Forgot how panic inducing the QTE prompt noise is, even when it's just for Ryo catching a football!

I think Iím not going to play the demo. Itíll just take the shine off the main game a bit.

Near the end of a Shenmue 1 play through myself. Still enjoying it but I think I blanked out just how often later in the game you just have to wait for things to happen. You'll just be told to come back somewhere tomorrow, then you just have to entertain yourself until the correct time. Dont think you'd get away with it in a game today.

Yeah, I think it's unfortunate that the end of game has you pretty much stuck at the harbour until each day ends. There's too much time idling about and not enough to distract yourself with, it needed an Arcade.

Definitely something I know people who dont like the game points at as a major flaw and I dont deny that, but the good thing is that issue doesnt exist in Shenmue 2. If you are told to come back at a time, you have the option to kill the time yourself or just skip to that time of day and progress the story. No doubt S3 will do the same.

Screenshots and video of the demo looking pretty good from what I see. Any impressions from here?

First impressions of playing the demo - HOLY FUCKING SHIT IT'S ACTUALLY A NEW SHENMUE GAME.

Honest disclaimer: I've had a really long work day and by time I fucked about installing Epic Game Store and downloading the game after dinner, I'm just to tired to enjoy it as I wanted to for my first proper go, so gonna soak it in tomorrow. Had 5 minutes on it though and yeah, it's bloody Shenmue 3. Unbelievable.

Hmm, I think my laptop will die if I try to play the trial... Might perform an experiment.

Can't believe I've actually played Shenmue 3 after all these years if waiting. The demo is awesome and beautiful, they recaptured that Shenmue magic.

Now bring on the full game, cannot wait.

Got the final "confirm your address, we're shipping soon" email from the Kickstarter. Looking forward to seeing my name in this game!

Swear I've had about 10 of those emails since I first backed it.

Which is understandable what with the delays, but still...

@Syrette Yeah I had to switch those emails to Junk. Near the start I was getting one every other day telling me something I didn't need to know.

I suppose I better check my Junk mail folder again

Got sent the backer trail version of Baihu Village last week and tried it out on my laptop. Was surprised that it worked (albeit on the lowest graphics setting) as although fairly new, it's only a humble thing I bought for writing.

Quite a lot of fan service going on here. I wanted a continuation of where Shenmue 2 left off and that's what we've got. It's almost retro and nostalgic, in fact that's probably going to be it's biggest strength (and biggest flaw, as a new audience won't "get it").

Has any one else tried it?

Has anyone seen a bookie with a scar on his face?[\spoiler]

Anyone got any notification that their copy has been shipped yet? I've seen backers getting email about their pledges being shipped and slightly concerned I havent got any email yet.

No despatch confirmation for me yet, but had all the address check emails a week or 2 back.

Can't believe it's out soon! I'm not far from finishing my 1HD playthrough but really want to run through 2HD before booting up 3...

Must say how much I'm enjoying the original. Nostalgia trip, certainly, but it's so wonderfully idiosyncratic that it feels so fresh still in the current gaming climate :0)

I'm just about to start what would be the last disc of the S2 remaster. If memory serves, this bit isn't too long so I've just about timed my run though perfectly.
Absolutely loved my replay of them both, I could do without some of the QTE nonsense in 2 but otherwise I think they still hold up well, it feels like a slow-build martial arts epic and Kowloon is such a great location.

Really looking forward to 3. Not looking forward to another long wait for 4.

Finished my run of the remasters yesterday. The world building and sense of location is really good, it really feels like I've been there. I backed S3 and can literally wait for it but it will be nice when it finally arrives, and hopefully soon.

2-3 hrs at most, I know cause I did the entire Guilin section in one sitting last week.

Just very strange it's so near. I wont believe it's real until I see a title screen and press x to start.

My daughter is about to get to the Kowloon bit on Dreamcast, but I've been hogging the TV to play Death Stranding. You wait 20 years then a non-MGS Kojima game AND Shenmue 3 come along in the same week. TYPICAL!
