So, I'm after an iPhone, and am flogging my few-months-old N97. To be absolutely honest (nothing you wouldn't know from a 10 second Google anyhow), the N97 has had a fair few teething problems - as have most Nokias until a few firmware releases sort the problems - but mine is now on 2.0 firmware, and has zero issues, it's a nice piece of kit now, working flawlessly. I'll miss the camera, keyboard and third party browsers like Opera Mobile but I want the iPhone for games. Mint condition (screen protected since purchase), £180 ono. It's a Vodafone contract phone so would assume it's locked to them but I haven't tried a different SIM, wouldn't be averse to getting it unlocked if it's a dealbreaker. Not too shabby seeing as they're going for between £220 - £280 on eBay - I just don't fancy dealing with Nigerian fraudsters much, so thought I'd try here first, I sold a Treo 750v with no hassle before on here. |
N97 for sale - help me EG!

Registered 17 years agoI have the .20 firmware too, still waiting for the .45 update. If yours has zero issues you're a lucky lucky bastard and I hate you.

Registered 18 years agoThe only problem I had on 2.0 was the Facebook app caused the phone to crash - did a hard reset and formatted the memory card, no problems at all since. The full Facebook via Opera Mobile or Bolt is miles better than that crappy app anyway.
I'd recommend a hard reset and formatting the mass storage if you're having problems after 2.0 - it was a big update, my available memory was 24MB before, 50+now.
I had a few issues until firmware 2.0, now it's a great phone. -

Registered 18 years agoI was going to recycle it via Simply Drop (Royal Mail's recycling service) - they'd pay £180 but according to their website they check if the phone is part of a contract (presumably from the IMEI?) - bah. Although Envirofone don't seem to have such stipulations from a quick look (although they offer less) - anyone know if this would be an issue? I'm keeping the contract, just selling / recycling the phone. -

Thanks for that. I appreciate you've got an opinion, but I've been very honest - I did have a fair few issues with low memory and random crashes until 2.0, and have none whatsoever now, it's a really fast, usable phone now. It's a bit clunky compared to other high end phones, but that's down to the s60 v5 OS - as someone that's used Nokias since the N-Gage, I find it fairly easy to use.
And I'm also selling it £40 cheaper than the lowest eBay price. -
Can't see how they'd be concerned about a contract. If they are, Mazuma would give you £168 cash for it and they don't care about contracts or whether the handset's unlocked. I've just used Mazuma and they were very efficient -
Ooh - ta Judge, good call.
