Registered 17 years agoYeah, fully announced and is clearly based on the zuneOS (as it should).
I was a windows mobile man for 4 years then deserted them almost 2 years ago. W7 may just bring me back (defected to android, and though I love it, it hasn't improved as fast as I hoped it would).
I expect full LIVE integration too. -
Full live integration will make or break this for gamers. -
What exactly do people mean by full Live integration? Being able to just view your profile and your friends or something more? -

Registered 15 years agoI guess it means like the website, being able to send messages to other users and purchase content and add it to your download queue, add points, add friends etc. -
Ah fair enough. I thought people were wanting to be able to play Live games or something. I think you can get iPhone/Android apps that do all that can't you? -

You'll be able to do exactly that, there's an article somewhere at Gizmodo.

All Live games? How is that possible when they are built for the 360 pad? -

Registered 19 years agoHe means mobile games built for W7 will have Live integration such as leaderboards, friend interactions, achievements etc. -
Gotcha- that makes a bit more sense at least. -

Registered 15 years agoA huge bunch (I'm not kidding, I gave up reading) of first impressions from the Engadget lot here: http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/15/editorial-engadget-on-windows-phone-7-series/ -

You know... you've unintentionally just explained exactly why Engadget seem to rate it. Given their propensity towards Apple gear that is.
I started to yawn. It's just a new 'skin'.

Registered 14 years agoYou've got to hand it to New Microsoft, they know how to tear down old, outdated ways of thinking and build something new, fresh and inviting in its place. See: NXE, Windows 7, Zune HD. And now Windows Mobile 7.
Tbh, it would take a LOT to shift me from iPhone. But this is the first non-Apple smartphone platform that I've even remotely considered. Looks great, and would slot in neatly alongside my Windows 7 media laptop and Xbox 360. -

Registered 14 years agoHmm. Okay, maybe "new" was a bit strong, but certainly more refined, less clunky user experiences. -
I do love the look of this Windows Mobile 7. It definitely looks nicer than the iphone. But its app selection will make or break it. And it sure has a lot of catching up to do, and they will have to make sure they exercise a strong level of control when it comes to developers. -
