|the MM table's horizontal axis is Battle Tier, which is separate from the vertical axis's normal tank tier. There are twelve battle tiers so they can weight some tanks more than others.|

Gah yes the average intelligence seems to be dropping...several times I've parked up with a shot on an enemy tank..only for some numpty to drive infront of me and take a potshot.
I want the kids back in school already and 7.5 out so I can rebuy some of my old favorites.
7.5 came out today and for those that researched the 12t you get a free tank with 100% crew, along with all the other changes and balancing done to the game.
Got my T110E3 and....
I think I'm the odd one out on the official forums in that I actually prefered the T95, I miss those 152mm side skirts.
buff the side armor back up to 152mm, leave the rear armor alone, drop 6kph off the top speed (making it 20kph) and I think it'd be just right IMO.
I managed to get the free new French tank and I quite like it
aside from it having the most pointless turret in history.
Indeed. Best to think of it as just like the German turretless tank destroyers, Stug etc.
And that 90mm is seriously powerful for a tier 5 tank.
Most tier 5 tanks have a smilar or better gun on them. But the real problem it has is that it's a light tank so it gets put into battles with tier 8-9 tanks.
However something very weird happened to me last night, I started having fun in the vk3001p, something is wrong with me I'm sure of it.
Bad DSMX, Bad, you know that tank isn't fun!
Well once it's elited it can be ok, not great but ok.
Plus you're nolonger facing Tier 10s which make you completely pointless.
Proudest moment for me so far has been bouncing a Jpz E-100 shot and having it kill his very low health medium friend that was trying to flank me, was bloody hilarious.
you never faced tier 10's with it or at least I never did even with the old mathcmaking, lots of tier 9's though. Which isn't so much of an issue so long as you don't take them on head one, which is sometimes easier said than done. But if you can flank them which can be quite easy if you can get up to it's top speed of 60 you can cause some huge damage from the sides and rear.
On the other hand is does occur to me that a lot of morons are on at the moment, before the holidays it was very hard to get side and rear shots on tanks right now it's piss easy. Ah well, I suppose I better enjoy it while it lasts.

I am enjoying my T-54. It is a fairly decent vehicle. I have found the lack of the top gun quite annoying, and I don't want to spend any money now that I became a Mechwarrior Online founder.
One thing that saddens me slightly is that the War trilogy (as Wargaming call it) won't be properly linked up ala Eve online and Dust.
I'd love to see on certain maps along coastlines to be able to call in targets to Battlships out at sea which can also be harrased by other enemy battleships and enemy warplanes.
"Target grid reference A-5!"
"missed, few degress left!"
"We're under attack, disengaging bombardment!"
Hell throw in the option to call in a 'bombing run' once per battle and see if anyone answers it.
Hell make the maps huge and expand it so that it's more of a World War 2 simulation, once all the nations get their Tanks, planes and Ships, have a 'nation' mode where Ships, Planes and Tanks of the same nation fight it out against each other, though I imagine due to the game being Belarus and big in Russia...that the most populated nation would be Russian.
Sadly I know such a thing could not come to pass, the maps in WoT simply aren't big enough to accomidate , neither is the view range, le sigh...

Well my 3001p is gone say hello to dsmx in the tiger p courtesy of the double credits weekend on a few of the tanks, also I managed to kill 7 tanks in my pz4 in 1 round and 4 of them were kv1's. Good times.
Messing around in a Pershing. I liked the T20 more, but that's because the T20 is the hands-down finest medium tank in tier 7.
Any good advice for playing American mediums then Zaiz since I'm working my way down that line?
Loved the M2 and the M4 because of their speed and big derpy HE cannons, currently on the M4A3E2 aka Jumbo Sherman and liking the switch to a heavier playstyle but I imagine with the T20 I'll be switching back to flanking.
E8 is better than Jumbo, unfortunately. The E8 has less armor(ish, only very slightly less in most areas) and it has the best soft/movement stats in tier 6, alongside the best DPS up through tier 7.
Crazy tank, basically.
My number one suggestion? Abuse the fact that your tank can always get the first shot. Shoot first, disappear. Always. If you can go in for a flank, make sure there's cover available to compensate for your slightly low DPS in the T20 and Pershing.
Supposedly the M48's on the move accuracy is so good there's no reason to stop, ever.
Sadly the on the move accuracy on the Patton took a hit in the new patch because the M48 needed to be as awesome as the Patton use to be apparently (the official reason is because the tier 9 mediums were basically balanced to fight tier 10s and so were overpowered at tier 9 if left alone).
loved the T20, once elited it was an awesome little tank and had a huuuge run of amazing games in it.
Pershing...well it isn't being so lucky but still liking it.

Pershing lacks acceleration that the T20 had. Real tragic. That's really the central problem with it. You can't abuse the lag compensation to make people to miss without that acceleration.
Kind of wishing I hadn't gone for the American medium line now and gone for the Russian instead (had all the way upto the T-34-85 completely researched and just not bought).
The Patton has almost no major advantages over any of the other mediums, it doesn't have the bouncy frontal armor of the T-54 or E-50, it lacks the speed of the other mediums, it's gun is just plain average. Not even what should be the American trademark (heavily armored turrets) applies to the Patton.
It's a jack of all trades but a master of none and in a game where being specialised is better than being average at everything that sucks major ass.
The only thing it has going for it is gun depression and that isn't always going to be a deciding factor on anything.
Seriously what is the point in playing the Patton when all the other mediums do things a lot better than it and the one major advantage it did have (high accuracy on the move) was nerfed to make the tier 10 Patton look better.
Plus Assault tends to screw over mediums, you can use your speed for a breakthrough in Assault because every assault map makes you go through choke points, you're pointless in defense on all but the Sand Rver assault map because it'd be better for a heavy or TD to take your place.

Dr_Mech, I should introduce you to the US server's top players. Every one of them drove a Patton except two. The reason being? The Patton is the god-king of shooting. Nothing shoots better than the patton. The DPS is straight up absurd, the mobility is good enough to carry it. I used the Patton in one of the CBTs, and trust me, there's nothing like it in the entire freaking game.
It was nerfed because of its high winrate.
And trust me, soviet mediums have so many problems. High rates of module damage, poor guns, mobility is meh until the elite T-44. And when I say high, I mean high. The higher tier russian mediums are generally described as "ammo racks and engines with crew stuck to them."
The T-44 was the only tank where I've ever lost multiple modules and crew to one AP shell. Most infamously, ammo rack and gunner damaged in same shot.

I am having a go at the t34-85 at the moment it's no worse than the German medium line. The trouble with all mediums is that they are very map dependant, you get thrown on a map where well we all know the score on that one. Basically matchmaking is still shit in the end.
The T-34-85 was one of my best tanks when it had the 100mm. Just a beautiful vehicle, packed a huge punch. Now that, sigh, MM is more fair it had to lose it.
Yeah perhaps I need more time on the Patton before making a final judgement.
Don't get me wrong it harrases heavies like a boss (and I love it for that), just find coming up against other Mediums a bit of a pain due to the lack of armor and slower fire rate.
Have trouble with the T-54s with all that sloped armor, even bouncing off the lower plate, could I punch through the turret front instead?
Edited by Dr_Mech at 23:21:28 18-08-2012
Cupolas, lower glacis is fairly flimsy but easy to angle and cause autobounce, etc. It is a tough tank from the front, but when you have a 200+ pen gun it should be fairly easy to pierce the upper or lower glacis on the T-54. The T-54's armor specialty is actually in fast turns to turn the upper glacis into an autobounce zone without warning.
Ok I think I've finally 'got' the Patton and things are looking up!
Yeah that gun, tis quite beastily, not sure if I'll bother going to Tier X though, while the Patton can still lose your credits, it can still make them big as well, once moving up to Tier X and the APCR shell cost is through the damn roof.
Now...bought myself a H35 for schmits and giggles and looking to see where I should go next back to yonder Maus grind, perhaps continue the German TD line now I've got the Jagpanzer IV unlocked (though I am told it is shitty..meh) or just save XP for the brits.
I'm going towards the Maus hence the tiger p, I do actually quite like the p I only wish the turret armour wasn't so rubbish though. 200m front armour but only a maximum of 120 on the turret is a bit weird
German tanks generally have mantlet values with an unlisted strength. The Tiger turrets have 200mm frontal effective armor, the E-75's is practically immortal, etc. The game does not list spaced armor, and arbitrarily picks one primary set of armor to choose the values from. That's why the Tigers appear to have such weak turrets.
: D Ta dah. Right now I'm grinding a Tiger H, Panther(still), Pershing, T-54(minibeast), and a T95.
