Registered 10 years agoAre we doing a Gears game sesh this week? If not, anyone up for Halo Co-op? Finally finished on Legendary and I almost stopped due to the time but thought one more go and it paid off!
Although, looking through the stats, it says I haven't completed all the missions. Is this Gears all over again?!

How do all you halo gods play on the hardest setting ?
Om on Friday,Sun evening so Gears or 4 x campaign Halo sounds fun. -

I'm not doing legendary just now either Duff. Heroic first to learn the maps/scenarios then maybe a legendary run after that once I kind of know what I need to bring. apart from a plasma pistol/DMR.gif)
I even did Spartan Ops on Normal, but I see there is no real penalty for dying anyway, so will step it up a bit next time. Those new dudes are pretty tough on normal though, due to sheer weight of numbers so god knows how Jono & Trout found them on campaign! -
I'm finiding Legendary relatively easy, the trick is to just be patient and not rush in.
The new enemies were tough at first, but once you work out their tactics they become easier. -

Y'see on normal I was over-confident and just waded in and got blasted with suppressors. DMR is great for the dogs though. 1 shot to head, backing off and keeping you distance definitely works with them! -
Yep, pretty much the same tactic I use on Legendary. I'm on mission 6 now and haven't wanted to smash my controller to bits. It's the perfect difficulty imo. -

Registered 7 years agoSo gears 3 was on my door mat when i got home from work yesterday and after quickly completing the end of halo ae (I'm a bit of a freak and have to complete one game before starting another!) i played the first couple of chapters of act 1 last night.
Got to say i really enjoyed it! I loved the quick crouching run that happens when you hold a down. It feels very 'actiony' and cool. One of the things that surprised me most though was the nice quiet moments on the boat. Having never played a gears game before i was expecting all out action but i really liked the contrast between the quiet, sombre moments and the shoot outs and explosions.
I also had a quick couple of games on team deathmatch and thought that was even more fun! I'm usually terrible at multiplayer but i managed 9 kills and just 3 deaths - i don't know if that's good or not but i was impressed with myself!
I also wanted to mention the graphics - i thought they were superb in both the campaign and multiplayer!
Needless to say I'm counting down the minutes at work till i can start playing again! -

I had one of those moments last night where i was thinking - how on earth have not played a gears game before?!? Its brilliant!!
I should have some time for some multiplayer this weekend (Sundays prob best for me) so I'll add u when i get home.

Registered 11 years agoFrance has one of the worst average broadband speeds and pings in Europe, which accounts for the terrible lag in games when they are hosting. Worse than the UK, if you can believe that. -

Managed a good few games, various modes. people about, not loads by anymeans but still enought to matchmake quickly.
I forgotten how much I like the Gears 1 campaign, good story, far more survival horror at least in places thats the impression I get.
As I'm typing this I have Richard Burton talking about walking through the dead bodies on the road in the deserted streets(War of the Worlds cd) it totally fits.
