    Street pass was excellent. I miss being able to pick up the last 10 users near a hotspot. It helped massively with collecting furniture on Animal Crossing!

    All gone now, though...

    Streetpass and Miiverse are still two of my favourite ever gaming innovations, imo. Both cruelly killed before their time.

    Warioware Gold (£5.99) and a few other games are on sale at Argos at very cheap prices.

    @rice_sandwich Cheers for the heads up on this, some really good deals on that clearance.

    Was tempted by the sale so had a look at the Argos eBay site.

    They've got Fire Emblem Echoes and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for £5.99 each but it's click and collect only so stock will depend on where you live.

    Naturally no bastard has them near me :(

    Yeah, I looked on Argos and lost the will to keep searching for games in stock. Besides, I've decided that this is the year I complete my 3DS games backlog, not add to it!

    Only certain games are going on sale though.

    And without anymore additions to the budget line either, it seems that Majora's Mask 3D is fated to remain forever expensive.

    I managed to pick up Echoes, Wario and the Yokai games, really wanted Super Star Saga but missed that.

    They also have the Animal Crossing new 3ds xl for £120, might not be the best price ever but I'm tempted as I only have an original 3ds and original xl.

    An Argos local to me has the Fire Emblem game......tempted, but it is a 25 mile return trip.

    I was tempted by a few 3ds games but realised I don't really have enough free time to get into them. I already have several Mario v Luigi games in the backlog.

    Tbh I'm not sure if I'll ever play Wario or the Yokai games but they were such a low price I just picked them up anyway. Will definitely play Fire Emblem Echoes and Browsers Inside Story though, one day!

    @voden

    Wario is a laugh and each mini game takes 5 seconds to play. You can make progress in small chunks of time.

    Might give it a go at some point then. I have heard good things.

    Here also.

    Iíve been gaming on my PS4 this week. First games Iíve played in about three years.

    My 3DS has no chance, and is in the attic :(

    Just added to my 3DS backlog thanks to Argos, with the added bonus of a trip to the cosmopolitan and beautiful Barnsley.
    Picked up Captain Toad, Devilish Brain Training, Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright & Conquest, Bowerís Inside Story & Bowser Jr.ís Journey, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask & Super Smash Bros all for under £100. Shame the 3DS eShop sales donít compete with those prices. Missed out on FE Warriors and WarioWare for £5.99 unfortunately.
    Iíve never played a Fire Emblem game before, is Fates a good starting point or should I get Awakening first?
  • Deleted user 8 February 2020 18:40:42
    @greg_wha

    Awakening is better imo. Fates is still great though.

    @greg_wha And make sure to do Birthright before Conquest as the latter is designed to be harder.

    In terms of quality, Conquest > Awakening > Birthright. Conquest is also harder, so maybe don't start with it. But Birthright is honestly a bit rubbish, so I'd start with Awakening.

    Iíve just liberated the 3DS and have done a system update. Popped Ocarina of Time in. Apparently I was just up to Dogongoís Cavern (sp?). No idea what to do!

    Ah right. Seems I was quite near the end of this particular dungeon. Iíve done the thing you have to do to unlock the boss room and then had a couple of goes at him.

    Not downed him yet, but Iíve figured out what to do.

    Aces!

    If you're still playing 3ds games, some good JRPG games are on sale for £5.39 a piece.

    7th Dragon III Code: VFD

    Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth

    Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology

    Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse

    Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux

    It's a ton of good gaming for £25. I'm very, very tempted to get them all.

    All 5 of them are good games, I have them physically though but those are good prices.

    I think there's also another Etrian Odyssey title on sale for £8.

    X was the final 3DS release, maybe that. I have a US 3DS so cannot check (I did generally preorder all Etrian and SMT games on 3DS physically so have that one too).

    One day I need to finish more of my Etrian games...

    So I ended up buying a bunch of dungeon crawler games in the sale. I'm good for dungeon crawler a for the next couple of years. The 3ds still feels good to play despite its inferior tech specs.

    Since it's payday, I'm tempted to get Captain Toad.

    People say that the 3DS version actually plays best, due to the touch controls (I'm not going to reconnect the Wii U so scratch that one out). It helps that it is also a lot cheaper. Any reason I should reconsider?

    @Malek86

    If you can live with 30fps, relatively worse visuals and a different selection of bonus levels (based on Mario Odyssey instead of 3d World) it's a good buy.
