@rice_sandwich wait, the Switch version and 3DS version have different bonus levels? Damn Nintendo, always trying to make people double dip. |

I think Switch and 3ds have the same bonus levels. It's the Wii U that differs. -

Registered 5 years agoPlayed a bit of Etrian Odyssey V and it's ticking all the boxes for what I like in a turn based dungeon crawler. The draw your own map feature is excellent.
I'm hoping to scoop up a few of the lesser known must have S/J/RPG games during the rest of the year. I've probably played all the well known first party games in various genres.
I'm going digital where possible as a lot of the 3/ds games available on eBay seem to be dodgy pirate copies. -

Registered 14 years agoI ended up getting Captain Toad after all. Should be good to play some quick sessions during my short lunch breaks. And it was just 16 euro.

Registered 5 years agoA few more 3ds games are on sale on the eshop . Not really super bargains but 50-60% off is decent for popular RPGs that have been £35 for years.
Shin Megami Tensei: Soul Hackers £4.49
SMT Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker £13.99
Stella Glow £13.99
Various Etrian Odyssey games. -

Registered 11 years agoI wish they'd put the Advance Wars games on the store. Just more GBA and DS games would be good. -

Registered 14 years agoAre there any gba/ds games on 3ds store? I thought the ambassador games were all we got.
A new Advance Wars would be nice to break uo the Fire Emblems (and I say that as a Fire Emblem fan)
I always meant to try out someof the earlier Wars games that never reached these shoress but not sure if Advance Wars were the first good ones or just the first ones we got. -

Registered 14 years agoThey are indeed all we got. The only other exception is a port of Warioware Touched that was available from the My Nintendo catalog a few years back. -

Registered 4 years agoI suspect they never sold any GBA ports because they didn't have the regular virtual console features you'd expect, like saving the state of the game or dipping in & out of the home menu, hence why they gave them away to ambassadors as a bit of a curiosity.
I seem to be in a minority where I hate playing original DS games on the 2/3ds. The full screen scaling is awful, and leaving it unscaled leaves a very annoying black border around the screen. Doesn't help that the screen quality of my DSi is far better than either of my 2ds's, either (IPS vs TN) making me well aware of what I'm missing. -

Registered 14 years agoI don't like playing DS games on the 3DS, but only because the d-pad is terrible and the slide pad isn't always good enough for 2D games (Shiren is near unplayable).
But anything that used the touch screen is usually fair game. I just played through Knights in the Nightmare again and it was fine, even if the picture wasn't quite as crisp as on the DS Lite.

Registered 3 years agoSeems like CEX have lowered their prices slightly perhaps due to the influx of people abusing Argos. Picked up quite a bit. -

Registered 4 years agoCEX staff are probably unaccustomed to dealing with new sealed product and not crusty games filled with belly button fluff and coated in mouldy bits of jam, hence the lower prices. -

My son enjoyed it when he got it for a birthday a few years back. Haven't played it myaelf but decent reviews is what made me get it for him at the time.
I can't remember but there may be a demo available?
