This chap on another forum has come up with a way of releasing the shutter on his camera without using his hands.

    Impressive.

    Here's his story:

I have a Leica M8, I also have LEGO robotics. Obviously combining the two would make for the ultimate Leica/LEGO experience. After many hours of work, I present to you this practical, portable and compact compressed air powered fingerless trigger.

As you can see in the picture, its made up of three distinct parts; at the front left is the air compressor, with storage, set to maintain a pressure of two bar. Next to this is the air switch, this uses a distance sensor and by waving my hand over this it will trigger the red thumb attached to the tripod, this in turn depresses the plunger on the cable release to take the picture.

Of course, he could have gone with the delayed shutter release but somehow that lacks the elegance of this solution.
