Registered 15 years agohmm this Battle of the Bulge game sounds awesome - any one seshed it? -
Been close to it, but I'm not sure it's the kind of game you can dabble with.
I love advance wars but taking into account all the parameters that the review alluded to has me scared tbh. -

Bought it and dabbled with the tutorial, but not delved deeply into it yet. Looks very promising tho' - great attention to detail in the UI.

I'm tempted, but I'm wary of shattering my fond memories... -

I bought it... and just cannot get into it at all. I was 12 last time I played it and the speccy / c64 / amiga were king. These days... I can do retro platformers but just can do this sort of game.

Registered 19 years agoAm I missing something here or do you need to buy a $35 piece of software (iExplorer) to get your ROMs copied across? -

Must be something you can use? I just closed a page which recommended a free program (sorry!).

Just tried it, when I plug it into Linux Mint I can just navigate to the folder.
Just fired up Galaxians, looked and sounded perfect. -

http://www.i-funbox.com/ it's free. Once installed, click on iFunbox Classic, plug in your device and expand it, expand User Applications - Gridlee - Documents. Then drag your roms into the roms folder.

Then fire up Gridlee, it'll show you the rom list to pick from.
It's a bit hit and miss with support, something about missing CHD files but the ones I tested worked great (Thundercross, Wardner) Looks like a massive choice of config settings as well. -

Registered 15 years agoBy the way, anyone wanting to install the old Eurogamer iOS app that have it installed on another iDevice you can use that free app above to do it.

A simple sounding game made by one man, you and up to three friends command a space ship and have to follow the instructions on the screen.
Only thing is your instructions are for your friends, and each individual instruction has a different timer running on it, lots of instructions and very little time = chaos.
The ship controls that you have on your screen change each round, so the game gets very challenging, and very loud, very quickly.
Four of us starting playing this in the office yesterday and had to move into a meeting room to continue playing very quickly as we became far too vocal.gif)
Great fun, and free to download! (not single-player though).
Please try it, it's a LOT of fun.

Registered 17 years agoWhat would you guys say is the best kind of multiplayer experience? I've recently got an iPhone 5 and I've played Hero Academy before that, and I loved it.
The app store really is like trying to wade through shit though, so I'm struggling to find another decent multiplayer game I can play with a mate. -

On another note, I have to buy ringtones? What kind of backwards ass, money grabbing, testicle gripping mockery is this? -

No you don't have to buy ringtones. Either use an existing track or there are plenty of apps that let you create one from a file. -

Registered 18 years agoLittle Inferno - 8/10 Entertaining, excellent production values, funny and quirky. Perfect iPad game which i've really enjoyed playing, won't last too long but then for the price who's complaining .gif)
Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes - 6/10 The game itself is superb but the iOS version is buggy and sloppy, the controls are unreliable/annoying and it's crashed enough times to stop me playing it altogether. I advise avoiding until it receives a patch. -

Registered 15 years agoRather enjoying 'Dead Trigger' at the mo.
It's riddled with micro transactions, but is actually good enough to not resent liking them on facebook etc. -

Just tried to stick this on my lads iPad, I had to give up after getting frustrated with the damn thing.. I used to love the iPad but after pretty much a year of android use it seems so backward to use. The damn thing almost found itself thrown against the wall..

I will have a go at sticking it on tomorrow when I have some patience to clear some space off it.
I'm kinda hooked on subway surfers though, that has kept my attention for ages.
