Not really a golf fan but he is in that Ali or messi bracket, he is an all time great and I can�t help but get lost in the drama of it all when he plays. The first time I watched the masters was 2005 (?) when he hit that amazing putt

Actually been trying to play golf for the first time ever this year. My uncle is retired so spend an afternoon out now and then with him. Not a bad afternoon out.

The worst bit about playing golf is that 1 shot in 100 which you hit absolutely perfectly making the game seem easy, and keeps you coming back for more grinding punishment.

haha yeah thats been my experience so far. And a lot of swing and misses! Though last couple of times i've been its something i only struggle with with the first hole and the last few where i guess i get tired.

This is exactly it. I haven't picked up a club in 10+ years but I still want to experience that "perfect" shot feeling. The noise, the transmission of vibrations up the shaft*, knowing exactly where it is going to end up less than half a second after impact, is better than any other feeling in any other sport that I've ever played, even though I liked other sports far more (and was better at them too for that matter). And the 1-in-100 thing can be nudged up nicely on the days where everything is working. They are nice days.

*works in both contexts

Yeah. In the time of Trump/Weinstein/Jacko/Saville, he seems only a second tier cunt, and an absolute top tier sporting freak. Great sporting story, I genuinely hope he goes on to more majors now and that his back holds up.
