Cancelled my iPhone 4 order and have grabbed a mint 32gb 3gs from Cex. Going to be trading in a load of BRs, DVDs and games that I just don't look at for it. Anything that is getting a sequel or I've completed is going out the window. (Naruto PS3, £21!?, ok then!).

Should be dead cheap for me then! Tmobile upgrade is in Mar2011. If that iPhone 4+ rumour is true, then this could be a good choice.

Antenna Gate is rolling its way through Apple Corp. then.

Certainly seems that way alright. But in the land of the reality distortion field there isn't a problem right?

I think even Jobs admitted there was a problem - the question is just how serious it is (I think: not even slightly serious, hence my buying the phone).

Didn't reports this week show the 4 dropped less calls than the 3GS?

    Yup.

The AT&T stats look flawed to me though.

Good summary of the situation from DA:
    http://daringfireball.net/2010/08/papermaster_damn_antenna

I completely agree - especially with his pros and cons of the new antenna, and his belief that Apple won't do a revolutionay change.

Sounds like one long excuse, to me.

Well, in a sense it is. But on the other hand it's really not as big a deal as the media are making out of it (and as far as I'm concerned, even with this flaw it's still the best phone out there). Of course, I know not everyone would agree, but the increased battery life, screen, reception etc etc make it seem like a massive step up. If the downside is there's a bit of the phone I shouldn't touch, then I can probably live with this.

But a guy on the internet said ALL phones have this problem? What cunts are Apple to fire someone over a non-issue?

Two of my colleges have bought the new iPhone and I must say it looks fucking glorious. And it drops bars as soon as I grab it with my left hand.

But man oh man what a lickable screen.

I know this is not really anything to do with the iPhone itself, but it seems that Jobs has got previous form of making a design decision that make for terrible user experiences. This from the Telegraph, regarding the Apple III

The Apple III was released in 1980. The hideous machine was a catastrophe for Apple and soon became known as one of the worst computers ever built. The computer was ugly on the outside and inside the machine it was a disaster. Steve Jobs decided that the computer did not need a fan which meant the machine got so hot all the chips would pop off the circuit boards. Apple's PR solution? Pick the machine up 10 cm and "drop it to reset the chips". With a price tag of around $8,000 not to mention the faults even top-end business users found it too expensive to justify buying. The computer was dropped in September 1985.

I know that Jobs walks on water, but Christ, you can't tell customers that.

Bloody hell. ANOTHER hairline scratch has appeared on my front screen. That's 3 now...toughest screen my arse. My old 3G didn't have one scratch on the front, this has developed 3 since launch day.

A girl at work ran into me today and I dropped my iPhone onto the floor where it clattered and skid away from me. I was livid! Luckily no scratches or damage that I can see, phew!

Is there going to be another iPhone 4+ or something next summer? Just curious as my contract runs out in March next year. So I may hang on and see what happens.

She'll love it. Megans are always dirty. My mate knew a Megan who only liked him to fuck her while she was wearing a cowboy hat and boots...true story.
