So if you had a real Ferrari, would you preorder some chavved up Opel Corsa painted red with a Ferrari badge on the steering wheel? ;D

That's presumably quite a bit smaller than the D-Lux series. Still, without having seen one in the flesh, I'd tend to agree with Mr Carrot.

Leica should stop all this bollocks. This is just a Lumix TZ10 (has an even smaller sensor than their LX3 clone). I with they'd just pull out of the compact market (Nikon might as well too judging by reviews).

Apple should make a nice camera, otto would go crazy and sell his ferrari badges in an instant to some chavvy corsa driver.

Ha! We used to have a Quicktake 100 where I worked before... 0.3 Megapixels of photographic power! Made by kodak wasn't it?

Yup. Sadly I no longer have a Mac old enough to get the files off it.

FFS Leica. Not only do they rebadge another Lumix they make the video worse while they're at it. Anyone buying this is a headcase.

I do wonder why they do this thing with Panasonic, has anyone come across a convincing explanation? Seems to me they're just diluting their brand.

money, their top end stuff is still as good as ever but now people who could never afford an Leica can buy a panasonic with a Leica badge stuck on it and feel better about themselves, i don't think it dilutes their brand as everyone who buys one is aware that they're lying to themselves :)

I don't know anything about "real" cameras - but by God that is a horrible-looking one! And that Leica-sticker on the front - WTF? My dad uses a piece of ducttape to cover the Nikon-label on his camera - not sure what he'd do with that Leica. Probably take an angle grinder to it or summat...

Quite a few high end compacts have this - they assume you'll have the camera in a waterproof case ;-)

It changes the white balance to compensate for the blue light you get underwater. My Caon G9 does it, and I can report that it does indeed work.

You can probably get a waterproof casing for it, so that mode is most likely just some predefined settings that take the lighting conditions underwater into account.

A lot of people use duct tape to cover their Leica dots; some paint them black.

Me, I leave it. :D The combination of a chrome camera and lens in an old-looking leather half-case means that the vast majority of people think it's just some old worthless analogue antique. I love it, actually, people get quite excited at the thought that I'm using an antique and ask me if I develop my own film. :D
