Tickets on sale tomorrow at 9.
Never heard of him but just checked his influences on Wikipedia and he sounds right up my street, gonna stick him on my next spotify session ;-)
Shame he can't sing, to put it politely.

Going to see Mudhoney in Nottingham soon. I haven't seen them in over fifteen years, had nothing on and got lazy I suppose.

Madness in August and Black Grape in November.

I saw them a few years back. On a superfuzz bigmuff anniversary thing.

Still one of the best gigs i've been to in ages. Mark Arm barely seemed to have changed. It was really odd.

How can i have aged 20years, yet he looked about the same?

My sister said the same thing when she saw them a few years back. I saw them a dozen times or so in the nineties and they always put on a good show, except around 94/95. Then they could be off, but drugs and shit will do that to you.

Saw mudhoney last year, they were as good as they were in the 90's

I'm going to see The Fall in Glasgow in late July so I can go through the usual gamut of thoughts:

Wow, Mark E Smith is a genius
Wow, Mark E Smith is a bit of a dick
I wonder if these songs would be better without Mark E Smith
Wow, Mark E Smith is a total cunt
Wow, I'm never paying to see Mark E Smith again

The last time I saw The Fall was about 15 years ago at The Footage and Firkin in Manchester.

The only thing I remember is the gurning.

Mark E Smith will never quite come out of the Downs chrysalis

    He ain't a looker that's for sure.

He is clearly a bit of a cunt, but has done some rather great tunes.

    And some truly awful ones.

I'd quite like to see him live, but think i should have done that many years ago to get a better experience.

I think your assessment above kind of matches the thought process of friends who have also been to see him.

Can he still manage a full set?

A mate of mine who saw him recently in London said he staggered off the stage after about 20 minutes.

I saw The Fall about five years ago and they were fucking amazing. One of the best gigs I have ever experienced. Smith did wander around fucking about a bit but it didn't ruin anything in that performance.

I'm fully expecting a ten minute set before he's too pissed / has fired the band.

Seen em a few times before, once was great the other times...not so good

I am thinking of going to Paris in October to see PJ Harvey. I have prior commitments when she is playing in the UK. I need a hotel for one night, does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just go on the Eurostar and come straight back in the witching hour?

There might be a minor EG exodus to the continent to see her this year- I'm heading off to visit a mate in Holland in Oct and am going to see her while over there.

The non-Jello Dead Kennedy's are also playing while I'm there, so we will probably go to that too.
