@twelveways Hmm, it shouldn't overheat during music playback - at least, my 920 doesn't. It gets roasting during games though! Have you tried a restart? Do you have a 925? How are you finding the camera? |
Can Nokia turn it around?

Registered 12 years agoI don't use it for music much but I was listening to digital radio the other day and it was definitely quite a bit warmer. Games really heat it up though as you say.
The camera is nice and photos look great on the screen. I like the smartcam app that comes with it, I'm rubbish at taking pics but I think in the right hands you could get some awesome action shots.
I do find that the 'buttons' are a little close to to the screen and I occasionally press the search button whilst I'm playing games. -

Registered 8 years agoAh right, that'll be the streaming then - was it over data or wifi? I'm always playing locally-stored music.
I'm still waiting on the Amber update for the new camera stuff. I'm eager to give it a crack though.
Yeah, I think that's just something you eventually get used to - I used to do it a lot back on WP7, but I can't remember the last time it happened now. A helpful tip: if you catch yourself tapping the capacitive keys, 'holding' it will cancel the action. -

Registered 14 years ago6" Nokia 'Phablet' incoming. Codename 'Bandit'. Rumoured to have a quad core snapdragon processor, 21mp camera and a 1080p screen. Allegedly out in the states by the end if the year, although knowing Nokia, probably end of next year. Colour me interested. -

Registered 15 years agoWell, so long Nokia.
Interesting that Microsoft only gets Lumia and Asha names, not Nokia. A good thing at least.
Still sucks, hope they don't cancel the throwaway back up phones like the 100.
Mission completed by Elop.
Hope they still keep the jobs in Finland.
Microsoft Lumia, eww. Might have a brand replacement for their Surface catastrophe. -

It would be a shame if quality went down the toilet. Have been very pleased with Nokia quality over the years. -

Nokia doing it right again, pretty great deal with 4G. I hope Microsoft doesn't fuck them over. Pity they still need more apps for RT. iPad with LTE is over $700.
They announced some new phones as well. 1320 and 1520.

Fuck Nokia. They're ceasing the Nokia Store, meaning I'm not going to be able to get app updates any more -

I had a fair bit of brand loyalty towards Nokia, it was my first mobile. (The philips c12 is stricken from my memory!)
Just always liked the build quality and the design. Looked like a lot of love went into their phones. -

Neat feature.
Nokia Refocus
Two giant phones.
Lumia 1520
Lumia 1320, the more budget version
Rather massive. I thought the 1020 was big. -

The Lumia 2520’s battery is capable of such feats as playing video for ten hours non-stop without a charge. The battery also offers a quick start with its ultra-fast charging time. It can go from zero to 80 per-cent charged in an hour.

Alongside the Nokia Lumia 2520, we’re releasing the Nokia Power Keyboard, a natural companion for the new device. It offers a keyboard with a touchpad, of course, but also wraps right round the tablet to offer complete protection without needing a separate case. The Power Keyboard also contains an extra battery for up to five hours extra use, plus two USB ports, for whatever other accessories you wish to attach. -

Registered 12 years ago3310 was my first too!
Nokia have always made quality phones and they were never afraid to push boundaries. They led the pack for a long time but when someone else took the lead they were too slow to follow. My missus was well happy with her Symbian phone, until she saw my Android one. -

What a fantastic find, CSC. I see my first and last Nokia phone in there. And a few others I had. And some I wanted, but could never get because O2 didn't offer them. What a difference 14 years makes.
