I do find it interesting that LUTHAA lives in a London which seemingly has the population of Cleethorpes.

I like the way his apartment is unrelentingly bleak and shit so we don't forget about his tragic personal life

User Decks, although you probably don't like even acknowledging accents from south of Middlesbrough, what did you think of the wonderful hard-nosed cockney female chief inspector from the mean streets of RADA

    I haven't seen 1 - 4 but season 5 was pish.

It has some good ideas but would benefit from dropping the action scenes. Anytime a gun was produced the quality dipped dramatically.

As for the tired cliché of an untouchable crime boss... Ugh that whole thing came across like 1960s Batman.

The setting felt a Iot more Blackpool than London.

I'm still struggling to come to terms with how stupid it was. I've been trying to find the yawning scene on youtube just to make sure I didn't imagine it.

    excerpt from the script:

    *After 5 minutes of questioning*

    Luther: Yawns

    Crazy lady: does not yawn

    *Luther storms out of room*

Luther: I've got her, she did it. Everybody yawns when some else yawns, except she didn't. Why is that? She has no empathy, vis-à-vis she is a psychopath. Oh Luther, you've done it again. And that's the end of that chapter.

*Luther careers into a nearby fruit stall like a water buffalo*

Luther: I WANT TO SEE MY WIFE

    and scene

First episode is not great, but there are some pretty entertaining ones later on.

Part of the entertainment is watching how often it tries to take itself seriously. And fails.

I think I watched up until the third season. It was utterly shit in almost every way, stupidly OTT and very incoherent, but still weirdly watchable. I quite fancied the psycho killer woman who somehow became his mate.

The sooner you admit you're watching it because your missus is saving every morsel for her wank bank, the quicker you can get on with your life.

Yeah this last series was dogshit, should have learnt after series 4 which was absolute toilet. Definitely wouldn't bother with the next one if they do one.

Spot on observation above about his flat as well, thought the exact same thing.

Sherlock gets a pass because it's supposed to be silly and not a gritty cop drama

How often does he just lose his shit and start King Konging nearby furniture? That was my favourite bit.

His Father was killed by a door.

It's an integral part of his back story.

Maybe he has a shitty apartment due to the thousands of pounds per year he has to spend on doors, furniture and car windows

Well it's certainly not spent on clothing, as he seems to have the same outfit in every. Single. Episode.

He chucked his trademark coat in the Thames as the thrilling finale in one series. He must have fished it out again and squirted a bit of Febreeze on it.

Sherlock starts higher but plummets much lower and plummets hard when it goes. Luther maintains a fairly steady level of screaming graphic nonsense from the beginning.
