I don't even go into the one in Leam. I simply go on the website. I print off the games i want to trade. Stroll into Gamestation across the road from CEX and then smile as they have to give me £8 more per game than they would have. The leam one doesn't seem too bad though tbh. |

They're paying £32 in cash and £40 exchange for RDR according to their website.
Not bad, if you can stand going in the place... -

I just load the site up on my phone, they have no problems with that. -

Registered 13 years agoTook my red dead redemption in to Gamestation today with a CEX printout for £40 exchange.
GS claimed they sell it used for £35 so couldnt give me more than £34 Thatll be the first time ive seen cuntstation selling a brand new highly rated big selling game preowned for a over a pound less than the new version. -

Registered 11 years agoThere's a good reason they are giving such a good price for RDR, it's selling for £50 used in the shop. This was in the shop in Edinburgh, and I was utterly amazed they were doing it for such a high price used, and the stock isn't even that bad now. -

There is a reason for that.
When the game is really new, CEX won't have very many copies yet, so they get a high price (basic supply and demand). What explains why that price is more than buying a new copy elsewhere is that some people don't have the cash to buy the game new, but do have either the games to trade in, or existing credit notes to pay for a CEX one, and are willing to pay the premium to play the new release they couldn't get with cash. -

In any case, when I finish this game I'm going to print out the Cex page and hopefully get £33 from Gamestation. -

Asking on here may be quicker than communicating with CEX, so does anyone know if you can return online sales to a store for a refund ?
Not as far as I know, my store won't do it. -

Registered 13 years agoI had a really badly scratched Gamecube game from their online store once, they just ignored my emails, but then I just got the tudors series 3 on bluray in mint condition for £12 from their for my gf so its swings and roundabouts.
The customer service IS awful though. -

Registered 15 years agoI have an £8 voucher expiring tomorrow... and I'm going to let it because:
A: It's not worth the petrol / cark park fee.
B: This year has been shit for games and there's nothing I want.
C: I hate everyone that works there, I know this because I've looked at them.
D: Their blu-ray prices are ludicrous too... so I couldn't even bring myself to get one of those.
I have a £70 voucher expiring in a few weeks, I wonder if that will go the same way. -

Registered 19 years agoHave they recently changed to not expiring their credit vouchers? I've got two that I see are set to expire in 3010. Even assuming the receipt was still readable then, I doubt they'd still be in business. -
